I knwo I know...alot of people think STUPID!!

Well, those who do, I think are STUPID!! for not giving the movie a chance. I, for one, am a huge Friday the 13th series fan. And if there is one man I love to watch, its Jason Voorhees.

How many of you are going to see this movie in theaters on first day? if not, then are you going to see it? In theaters or wait till Blockbuster gets it?

One last question, who do you think will win?

My hopes Jason!!!!!! But it will either be Freddy (New Line's baby) or they'll both die so people will not be pissed about who loses this fight. But if it wasn't either of those situation, Jason would definitly rip Freddy a new one!

Come on. You have to know that this movie is going to absolutely be horrible. But since it has such a cult following, it'll be something to watch. :D

From the preview I saw in the theatre last Sunday, it looked to me like Freddy was the "good guy".

My money is the the Fredster!

Sorry to say Ken, but Freddy will not be the good guy :)

I've read some of the script for the movie (only small segments).

Too bad Kane Hodder isn't Jason again, they didn't want him because he was too big of a man comapred to Robert Englund (Freddy). THey wanted a fair sized build so it wouldn't be too obvious.

Freddy was the only one with any dialogue during the preview, so perhaps that's where I took a wrong turn...

Well...if they are both bad, couldn't we assume it's going to be a bad movie?

I do not see how it will be any good. Even if you like either series or both series, why would freddy and jason be fighting one another? They'd be tag-team-killing clueless victims.

That's pretty much the gist. It's two evil guys fighting each other, and in-between, they both kill off a bunch of idiotic teenagers.

This is the movie I'm most looking forward to this summer. I have August 15 circled on my calender (and the next Tuesday Silent Hill 3 comes out for PS2 - a horror fans dream I tell ya!). The director of FVJ did Bride of Chucky, which I thought was pretty funny so I'm hoping he'll do a good job with this but Kane Hodder will always be Jason to me.

Oh, and I hope Jason beats the hell out of Freddy.

Quick side note for horror fans, Katherine (Ginger Snaps) Isabelle will be playing one of the victims.

Here you go, from upcomingmovies.com:

Premise: A group of teenagers finds themselves stuck in the middle of a battle between two forces of evil: silent stalker Jason Voorhees and gabby dream master Freddy Krueger, as the battle wages from Elm Street (the beginning of the film) to a climactic finale fought at Camp Crystal Lake.

Here's another one, from imdb.com, but I'm not sure how reliable it is:

After being trapped in hell for quite some time, Freddy Krueger meets up with Jason Voorhees after Jason is sent to hell by Creighton Duke (forget part X; rewind to Friday the 13th Part IX). Krueger is able to disguise himself as Pamela Voorhees, and instructs Jason to start murdering on Elm Street upon his resurrection, therefore restoring Freddy's power as well. Jason does this task, drawing the attention of Tommy Jarvis, the only person to have single-handedly defeated Jason twice, and Alice, who has managed to defeat Freddy twice as well. However, once Jason realizes what Freddy has done, he is infuriated. Hellbent on vengence, Jason renews his bloodbath in pursuit of personally slaughtering Krueger, and anyone else in his path.

So, Jason kinda is the "good guy"... :p

Well Ken, Jason doesn't have dialouge, cuz well...he never had any dialouge in his previous 9 movies (this does include 1-10).

and yep, thats the gist of this movie...I got it circled on my calendar, hell any horror fan, or non-horror fan should. This movie will be one for the ages.

But I'm still upset, Ken Kirzinger is not Jason...Kane Hodder IS Jason Voorhees. I wish they could look past the massive size difference, and not make their baby look too small compared to him.

Oh, and Silent Hill 3...:) That is the greatest Horror video game series of all time.

The thing I worry about, Director Yu has never seen a movie from either series. But in the preview, he does look to have it down to par. I just hope he makes it great and fresh.

Are you cereal? Jason wears a mask for pete's sake! Does anyone really care who played Darth Vader (and yes, I know it was David Prowse) when they didn't use his face or voice. Come on!

Let's face it. Both franchises were run into the ground years ago. I saw the first Nightmare on Elm Street when I was a senior in high school and it was freakin' scary!!! Now both franchises have been reduced to camp.

I've always thought that the Friday movies were totally worthless--and I still think that. The first Nightmare was good, and surprisingly, the last one (New Nightmare) was actually quite good on its own as a horror movie.

Kane Hodder brought a lot more to the role of Jason than any other actor. Just watch the films he was in vs. the rest of them and the difference is immediate. The role requires an ominous presence. You can't just deliver a clever one-liner and have at it - you have to BE evil. Kane actually went so far as to get the word "Kill" tattooed on his lower lip to help get psyched for the role (and he has several mannerisms as Jason that are widely recognized as his own).

Check out his profile on imdb - the dude's a very successful stuntman. He set a record by putting on 200 lbs of squibs for a scene in Jason Goes to Hell.

Well, lets put it this way. Kane Hodder lived the part of Jason, and loved doing it. He had the motions of a true man behind the mask, he showed excitment, confusion, intensity and downright insanity in this part that previous Jasons (such as CJ Graham) failed to show. Watch 2-4 and 6-10, and tell me which one of the Jason's is more intimidating.

You just really aren't into the movies then, if you think its stupid to think that one man can't play him. Kane Hodder is the only Jason. I dare you to watch all the movies I mentioned, and tell me which has more intensity to the character.

I don't think it's stupid that one man can't play him. You misunderstand me.

I'm SAYING that outside of his body structure, who gives a rat's a$$ WHO plays Jason?? He doesn't ACT. That's the whole point! You can debate this all you want, but this amounts to nothing but debating who performs a cartoon character!

Well, Chap. Considering the fact that you don't even like the Friday the 13th series, then you can't have an opinion on to who can actually play Jason. Seeing as how you don't like it, then obviously it won't matter to you who plays Jason, because you only see the man with the mask. However, for those who truly like this series can tell the difference, and Kane Hodder is making a huge difference in the Jason character. Don't try to counter this with anything, because you can't win this argument. You aren't a fan, simply said, you do not know just how much Kane means to the role of Jason, and what he has brought to the table. I hope Kirzinger does a great job, but he was only chosen because New Line didn't want their baby Freddy to be too outsized to Kane Hodder. They also wanted a more sad look in Jason's eyes, where Kane has the evil and frightening look.

Jason Voorhees is not a man of word, but the looks that Kane Hodder gave, and the excitment shown within the character was worth a million words everytime.
