Granted. I am no expert at the Friday the 13th movies--and it doesn't bother me at all. And I will agree that Hodder's body type is probably better than this smaller guy. But that's where it ends.

I'll bet you a thousand bucks that a "sad look" in the eyes has nothing to do with the casting. It's all about Freddy, like you said--and that's it.

And I can have an opinion. That's the whole point of an opinion, is the right to have it. You are obviously more knowledgable than me about the series (and I'm not so sure that's such a badge of honor as you portray it to be), but this debate equates to nothing more than the same thing as debating who should play Oskar Schindler--Liam Neeson or Pauly Shore... :D

Jason is not a character--he's a charicature. There's a big difference.

Dude, what could have been. I heard that shortly before filming commenced Pauly simply asked for too much and desperately lobbied for a cameo by Brendan Fraser so at the last minute Spielberg decided to go with his understudy.

Wait, what were we talking about? Oh yeah, Jason is definitely a character. He has his own traits and quirks, likes and dislikes. Just because he doesn't talk doesn't mean whoever portrays him isn't acting.

And I love that this is being debated :D

:D Are you serious?

The only real decisions he has to make is who to kill first: Naked Chick A or Naked Chick B. Sometimes he goes crazy and decides to kill Cub Scout A instead--which gives him incredible depth.

Come on, Chap, everybody knows that Jason never went crazy and killed a Cub Scout (or any kids, matter of fact). He was drowned in Crystal Lake as a result of counselor negligence so he only goes after teenagers (counselor-aged humans). Such is a personality trait of his (hence, a piece of his character!)

I believe that for someone to exhibit any "personality traits" one must first possess a "personality".

Robert Englund recently talked to Bloody-Disgusting (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com) about "Freddy vs. Jason," and also revealed that he may team up with Kane Hodder, who played Jason for many "Friday the 13th" films (but not in "Freddy vs Jason").

"In Nightmare on Elm Street 8, or Freddy vs Jason, we have a part where Freddy gets really pissed off, its very demonic looking make-up, I’m actually sitting here looking at the picture at my desk and I cant stick up on my website yet," Englund revealed.

Regarding his project with Hodder, Englund said, "I’m actually considering a project by the original Leatherface, Gunner Hansen. It would involve Kane Hodder and myself working together. It’s a great kind of Blair Witch spin on the origins of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It’s a very funny script and Id have an opportunity to work with Kane there!"

That would be awesome, Kane Hodder is the best Jason, and Robert is a great Freddy...no one could play that part.

Anyways, I put myself into saying New Line (Freddy's father, Jason's adopted parents...or rather he was adopted by them.)
doesn't want to make Robert too tiny looking to Kane...so they got Ken Kirzinger.

However, if I missed the entire point of your post, staple me a *******, and i'll give you beer money...not really.

Wow TrentAZCards, I love your passion. Great analysis of Jason!

I recently watched this. The first three Elm Street's scared the heck out of me as a kid, but this movie was pretty ridiculous.
