I was looking over the remaining free agents on :

http://scout.scout.com/a.z?s=127&p=9&c=12&nid=83&lnid=83

Are there any free agents left that would improve the Cards?

What position is still weak?

Is TE Chad Lewis any good?

Per John Clayton, after setting aside $4M for the rookies, the Cards have almost $6M left.

Who should the Cards target? What Position?

Backup Center? Another WR? A nickel CB?

We should target Boldin, why exactly would we want Law? I thought we draft two CB's did one get hurt. Macklin is fine on one side, and what better time then now to throw Rolle into the league.

Ty Law is still out there. Kinda surprising to me. I don't know what his contract demands are, but he'd help just about any NFL team if he's healthy.

He is not recovered from injury yet and his contrct demands are high

1. Get Boldin done.

2. Bring in Lewis for a look if it wouldn't screw up TE unit chemistry. He'd be our only veteran TE. If he has just a year left in the tank, he'd improve the club.

3. Send me the balance (in small bills).

I don't think it's official yet. A deal has been reached, but I don't think they're able to fit him under the cap until they clear some space.

I think Chad Lewis would be a nice fit for a one-year contract, we develop Edwards and that Rookie FA we brought in while Warner has an experienced check-down man over the middle.

OG's - Dan Niel or David Dixon on one year contracts to bring a veteran presence on the line as our top interior backups.

OT - Chris Terry, Ethan Brooks, or Voctor Riley on short cap friendly deals to be our main backup at the OT spots.

Other then that forget about anyone else and use the remianing money on Boldin, possible june 1st cuts(doubtful there will be anyone of use but maybe), and middle of the year extensions.

Dan Neil, I agree, would be a good depth pick-up, however he did play for the Broncos and that zone blocking scheme, so my own question of abject ignorance is: Does he know how to block in the Cardinal scheme. If he does, than maybe he's a canidate.

None of those strike me as likely free agent pickups by the Cards. Brooks played here a few years ago. He's managed to hang around the NFL, but I doubt he's much better than the two guys we signed this week at T. I think the team will see how the guys on the roster now do in live action before they decide to stand pat or pick someone else up.

my personal opinion is to get the boldin deal done and then go from there. sometimes a team best move is keeping the players they already have.

Ty Law is still out there because he isn't healthy to work out yet and he wants big money. No team is going to be willing to sign him to a big contract until they can see that he is fully recovered.

Word is that the Steelers are extremely likely to sign him once he can work out for him this summer.

Wait till the June 1st cuts. There should be someone there that can help fill one of our holes (i.e tight end)
