I was just thinking about how Fisher wants a $5M/yr deal from the Lakers. The only leverage he has is that they want him to play for them. There are no other teams that Fisher can be courted by since he cannot leave LA due to his daughter. If he wants any contract at all, it pretty much has to be with the Lakers or Clippers. Or, is his daughter in the clear now?

Reportedly the Heat is offering Mike Miller 5-years/$27-30M. You would think that they'd never be able to afford that if James is to be signed, but they just might if they can unload Beasley as expected.

$16M*3 (Wade/Bosh/James) + $1M (Chalmers) + $4M cap holds = $53M, leaving them about $5M for another decent free agent like Miller and then the rest with veteran minimum contracts. I don't think what they are doing is particularly smart, but it seems feasible financially. But wouldn't they need a center more? Bosh had stated in the past that he doesn't want to play center.

trade them lopez for beasely and their 1st round pick in every other year for the next 20 years. eventually they'll be bad enough again that some of those 10 draft picks will be lotto-bound.

I'm too lazy to look it up but I think Shaq needs another ring just to get back to even with Kobe.

It sounds like the NBA to me. It's become a joke this off season with players clustering to win a title. What about the other teams in the NBA. I thought striving for parity was a good thing. Now it's the haves versus the have nots... the Harlem Globetrotters versus the Washington Generals.

I think we just went into the Washington Generals category. :bang:
