He'll be in prison or a Sun next year. Maybe not, but that's the only way I can see this trade making sense.

Don't forget that Tracy McGrady can opt out of his contract after next season.

Imagine if the pulled off a Marion and filler for Rasheed Wallace trade now.

They would probably have enough to offer Kobe and TMac.

We could also wait a season like Utah did and get White and Trybanski off of our cap before we sign a max player.

Those look pretty good and doesn't include those that will opt out of their contracts.

Quentin Richardson is a more confident and shorter version of Joe Johnson. I also don't think the cougars are going to let him get away cheaply. I hope the Suns have little to no interest in him.

I just hope they so after players to our fundamentally sound... i.e. they can shoot the ball.

The Cougars? :)

Richardson just recently scored 44, I think JJ's production will go way up now that he is more in the focus offensively but 44 I am not sure JJ is capable of that.

Not a very impressive list. :(

Obviously Kobe would be great, but if that doesn't work out, I'd go after:

1. Manu Ginobilli
2. Hedo Tourkoglu
3. Keon Clark

Nash is probably going to stay in Dallas, and Vlade will be retiring, but maybe he could be persuaded to sign a one year deal to work with Z and Vujanic.

I wouldn't touch Turkoglu with a 10-foot pole.

He is soft, plays no defense and isn't exactly a great shooter.

Keon Clark is walking on 2 sticks, don't know where his legs are.

The Spurs will overpay Ginobili. He isn't better than Joe Johnson either.

I would take Vlade for the veteran minimum. I wouldn't say that possibility is totally impossible.

The Spurs are currently scheduled to at only $31 million next season, so I don't think Manu is going anywhere.

Tourkoglu is only shooting 35.9% from the field this season and is basically a small forward.

Keon Clark has barely played this season (2 games).

By the way, my economy special would be to go for Brett Barry and leave some money for a serviceable center.

Look at his shooting numbers.. He is terribly inconsistent, plays with Tim Duncan and is often erratic.

Ginobili is a good showman that is why he is overrated.

I don't want the Phoenix Suns to throw big money at Ginobili, Steve Nash, or Richardson. IMO only Nash will be worth close to what he will get paid this summer, and he is too old, injury prone, and the Suns will already have two young point guards.

Why do you think Ginobili is good?

He gets a TON of open looks by simply dumping the ball into Duncan.

He is erratic at times taking bad shots.

He gets a lot of steals ( guess it doesn't hurt having Duncan under the hoop when you gamble on a steal)

He is an inconsistent shooter.

Joe Johnson is capable of everything Ginonbili does but he has better size and more versatility especially on the defensive end.

Plus JJ is younger, cheaper and will likely always be cheaper.

I think you are wrong on all accounts and I have seen Ginobili a bunch of times.

I wouldn't give JJ an edge but Ginobili isn't better than him in any of those aspects, especially not defense or athletic ability.
