If Jim Fassel gets the gig in Arizona I would not be suprised if the Cardinals signed these free agents:

Chris McAlister-CB (Ravens)
Dennis Northcutt-WR (Browns)
Chris Bober-C (Giants)
Cornelius Griffin-DT (Giants)
Jesse Palmer-QB (Giants) restricted FA

The Cardinals will let Barrett and Gramatica walk to free agency and I look for them to cut Clement, Smith (possibly), McCown and Wakefield. The signing of Bober will allow the Cards to move Kendall back to guard and make Big our RT.

I think the Cardinals will draft as follows:

QB-round 1
CB-round 2
DE
OT
WR (returner)
2 Special Teams Player (positions secondary)

If we don't land Eli or Ben in the first, Palmer is an interesting option, but I think it'd be tough to get him because he's restricted and set to be the Giants' guy once Collins retires.

I don't think they are just gonna let Gramatica walk. Didn't we use a fairly high draft pick on him?

So?? Sunk cost. If Rackers is better, keep Rackers. Drafted or not should play no part of it.

so we just let a 4th rd draft pick with talent walk? I guess so, we do that with everyone else.

Rackers has seemed pretty decent though.

Talent? An injury-prone kicker who can't kick the ball past the 15. If you say so.

I didn't say the guy was the next Morton Anderson. But yeah he is a talented kicker. 10/15 from 40-49 yds is pretty decent. Overall 75%. 7/8 from 39 yds. That is talent.

62.6 yds per kickoff. That's his average kickoff. That puts his average kickoff at the eight.

Jim Fassel is a hack. We need a guy to come in here and shake things up. We need a big name guy whether its from the college ranks or the NFL. I think we sign Dan Reeves if Atlanta lets him go. He is a solid coach who could help a young QB like Manning when he comes in here (which he damn well better be the 1st round pick). You need a big name and i think Fassel would just be another in the long line of subpar second tear coaches to roll through the valley of the sun.

I just dont get this line of thinking. The guy lead an awful giants team into the superbowl and single handedly willed them into the playoffs with a no talent team.

I don't see the fascination with Reeves unless it is the fact that he was a Cowboy and there are a lot of closet Cowturd fans in Arizona. Reeves has not been a very successful NFL head coach. He has been to the Superbowl 1 time and that was the ONLY time that the Falcons have been to the playoffs in all the time Reeves has been there. Fassel on the other hand IMO is a much better coach with much better X&O ability in game planning before and during the course of a game. I personally liked Fassel when he was our OC and would be extremely happy if we were fortunate enough to get him to coach the Cardinals.

He led the Broncos to three Super Bowl berths, four AFC Championship games, and five AFC West Division titles. I'm no fan of Reeves but, he has had more success than what you give him credit for.

Fassel has been to the Superbowl. we've never had a coach that's been to a Superbowl. I'd take Fassel over Reeves anyday. I'd be happy with Fassel. He took a burn-out like Collins and got a few more good years out of him. Reeves looked bad in Altanta until Vick came, and with Vick down, Reeves looks bad. We don't have a Vick in Arizona.

Yeah, Wendell Bryant, Andre Wadsworth, and plenty others where high picks too and they will be kicked out next season.

Go Neil Rackers!

We still have Wendell, and I bet he'll look good under our next coach. Not a single lineman has grown under Mean Joe.

True Earthsci. I had almost forgotten about his time in Denver. That was along time and a heart attack ago. As I remember though, Elway and an owner (Bolin) who had an open check book were given most of the credit for the Bronco success. And didn't Elway refuse to say anything good about Reeves and behind the scenes insist that Reeves get the ax?

Dan Reeves help a young QB.... you've got to be kidding.

He damn near ruined John Elways' career...
