Free Watchmen Preview

You have to sign up with some movie preview ticket service but I don't care.

I am worried that the lines will be crazy though

Here's my official prediction: this movie will disappoint.

Here's why I think it's going to be problematic:
1. The source material is overrated, IMO. It's "important" in the history of comic books, for certain. It represents the turning point from bright colors and rosey outlook on and by the heroes. But it's not as good as everyone makes it out to be, it's a little conveluted and sometimes confusing. And that's coming from me, a fanboy...I don't think the general public will like it much at all.
2. It should be a 4 hour movie. There's so much in the story that I can't imagine what they've had to cut and/or condense to make it a one movie theatrical release. I think it will suffer from that.
3. None of these characters are iconic in our culture like Spider-Man, Batman or Superman are. I don't think the public is going to connect with them like they do with those other films.

4) I expect a "No Country for Old Men" ending backlash. There is no Joker to your Batman nor even a Lex Luther to your Superman. Who do we root for or against, what is resolved at the end?

No way. There's a bunch of problems with him as an iconic "hero." No one heard of him before the movie, no one will hear of him a year from now, he's a killer, he's not handsome and

I just saw it. I think it's largely forgettable. I'll give it this, though, it sure was faithful to the comics. Shot-for-shot it looked like the movie was pulled from the pages.
