I finally caught up and watched the last 2 episodes. This is such a great show I am baffled why it doesn't get more pub.

I think it might scare off some that think its just a sports show but all you need to do is watch one episode to realize that isn't the case.

Just watched Tuesday's episode.

Props to Smash's mom for going to the coach. I'm not sure what I would do if I were in the coach's situation. Pretty sad that a kid could make a bad decision at 16 or 17, that would affect their entire life.

BTW, do we have any idea what grades the kids on the show are in? I guess I am thinking about next season, if it gets renewed.

This is how I see it;

Julie Taylor - Sophmore?
Jason Street - Senior
Lyla Garrity - Junior
Tyra Collette - Senior
Matt Saracen - Junior (doesnt he drive?)
Brian "Smash" Williams - Junior
Tim Riggins - Senior

What do you think?

I am pretty sure Saracen is a Sophomore...IIRC when he came in to the game to replace Street I believe they said "Sophomore Matt Saracen".

I think Lyla is a Senior and Julie Taylor is a Freshman, I know that Smash is a Junior because that was mentioned.

I drove as a sophomore, turning 16 in October. Besides, Matt's friend drives him around.

Yeah, this episode was amazing.

one of the best shows on TV not getting enough props.

I'm so happy Matt is back with his girlfriend.

How great are the scenes with Matt and his buddy...that guy cracks me up all the time...priceless stuff.

I just watched the show. It was awesome.

Favorite part is when Matt tells Julie she didn't have to worry about him during the fight because "I just stand in the back and yell stuff"

That was my favorite line too...second favorite is when Coach Taylor gets his advice from 1) The counselor 2) His wife 3) his friend all in one person, then walking out says "the three of you scare the hell out of me."

I am so similar to Coach T.

Yeah, super episode.

The scene with the mom confronting Julie was just great. They do a very good job with that stuff.

And Riggins dad..."Watch...it will be easy" when he left...that hurt.

It sounds funny, but I am glad Matt & Julie didn't go through with it. I was just picturing the HELL coach Taylor was going to bring down on poor Matt.

So...question is will Street leave Lyla for the tattoo girl?

My thoughts are that the actor that plays Matt Saracen is either a) just like Matt in real life or b) one hell of an actor. I have not seen such a believable character on a TV show. The way that he is always stumbling over his words, fidgeting and trying to do the right thing. He just plays the role so perfectly that it's hard to believe that he's acting.

Also, this show does a very good job of eliciting emotion from the audience without being obvious about it. The scene with Tami and Julie Taylor discussing having sex was fantastically acted. And Coach Taylor does a great job of expressing his emotion without even having to say anything. You could tell exactly what was going through his head when they were sitting at the table waiting for Julie to come home and he hardly said a word.

Overall, this is one of the most impressive shows on TV. I love Heroes and Lost but this show's graininess and basis in reality is just awesome.
