Nana Visitor (Deep Space Nine) is rumored to have landed the role as Jason's mom.

I say why even bother!

I saw the Halloween remake and thought that Rob Zombie could have easily made the same film and replaced Micheal Myers with some new psycho character and it would have been a good, original film. I don't get why people need to take these classics and put their spin on them. All it seems to do is upset those whose liked the original films.

With so many talented writers in the world, I just don't get why people rehash these films.

Most original horror movie as of late: Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon. Just rented it from Blockbuster and will probably buy it.

Searching for his missing sister, Clay heads up to the eerie woods of legendary Crystal Lake, where he stumbles on the creaky remains of rotting old cabins that lie in wait behind moss-covered trees.

And that's not the only thing hiding under the brush.

Against the advice of police and cautions from the locals, Clay pursues what few leads he has, with the help of a young woman he meets among a group of college kids up for an all-thrills weekend. But they are about to find much more than they bargained for.

Little do they know, they've entered the domain of one of the most terrifying specters in American film history—the infamous killer who haunts Crystal Lake, armed with a razor-sharp machete... Jason Voorhees.

I admit it..I want to see this. I liked the other movies when I was a kid.

It'll probably be bad, so what? The other ones weren''t very good either just mindless, bloody, violent "fun" LOL

Behind the Mask is an excellent movie. I kept thinking about it while watching this remake of Friday the 13th. Not much new, but that's not why I saw it. I was looking forward to Jason and the genre but set in modern times...it delivered on that. It's not original in it's story of course, but neither were the remakes of Amityville and Texas Chainsaw, and I liked both of those too.

I came into this movie just hoping to be entertained and I really really enjoyed the movie. Good action/jumpy scenes and even when there wasn't any scary stuff happening I thought it was actually really funny. I'll give it a 7/10

I liked it. Back to the 80's style horror. Boobies every where!
