According to ESPN Radio, Kurt Warner will sign a deal with the NYG that will pay him in excess of $3M.

I don't know what they are thinking. Warner is a has-been. They might as well have gotten Warren Moon. Actually, they should have grabbed Jeff Lewis and Jeff George, then cut Palmer. If Warner plays great, how long do you keep him? At least with "the Jeffs" there's no chance of them beating out Manning next year, and Jeff Lewis is relatively young enough to keep around for awhile as a back-up if he looks good.

The New York media will make Warner and his wife cry on a daily basis. It's a really tough crowd.

Jeff Lewis stats: Arghhh. I can't find any. He was the bomb at NAU, kinda like Preston :(

It will be funny when Brenda calls in a Radio channel in NY and defends her husband there. :D

Bingo, if he went there or Philly he'd find out quickly how easy he had it as a Ram.

Warner is still a remarkably accurate passer but he's looked completely out of it the last year and a half. he has no confidence in the pocket, he fumbles at the slightest hit, and I'm not convinced the Giants OL is good enough to protect him. If he has time to throw he can still deliver the ball as well as anybody, but the amount of time he needs has increased because he's so nervous now about pass rushes.

Took too many hits.

Was looking for the original thread on the signing of Warner. Stumbled on this and smiled.

It's funny how often this comes up. You don't go into Canton as a member of any specific team. He'll go in with a plaque under his bust that says:
"Kurt Warner Quarterback 1998-2003 St. Louis Rams 2004 New York Giants 2005-2009 Arizona Cardinals".

It's because in baseball they put a hat on the busts, so it is a big deal there. For the NFL, it's more telling who they have introduce them and how much they talk about each team in their speech. I expect Dick Vermiel to introduce Warner, but for him to speak equally glowing about his time with the Cardinals as the Rams. Only SOME Cards fans realize he actually topped all of his stats with the Rams in Arizona.

Funny thread, but the cool thing is that his critics were not off-base at the time. And from what I recall, KW never played the "nobody believed in me" card, he always expressed appreciation for being given the chance to make a comeback. Check that--historic comeback.
