Was looking at one the major Sporting Papers today and it had an article on three coaches who screwed up big time this year. Yes Green was right there with his benching of McCown with a 2 game winning streak. The coach from MN made the list by having Randy Moss throw that interception into the endzone late in the game and with three defenders all over him. That really was a dumb call.

I love the fact that those papers don't mention that we BARELY beat two of the three WORST TEAMS IN FOOTBALL in that "winning streak" and the last good team we played beat us by 24. Nothing like putting things into perspective. They probably also don'tmatter that when we switched QB's back - that QB became the only QB to lead his team to the only TWO wins of SF's year. It's easy to make black and white statements while not really looking at why something happened.

You want to blame Denny - blame him for going intot he season with this group of yo-yo's taking snaps behind center - he's definitely at fault there.

In hindsight and really at the time we did go into the season extremely weak at QB. A 7th round rookie. a 2nd year guy who had started three games and a vet who I thought would be the starter. Most teams like to have an unquestionable starter and a backup who has a decent chance of performing if the starter goes down or does not perform. That is all history now and the biggest problem in front of us is who will paly QB next year. I am no McCown fan but I sure hope he proves me wrong the next three games as I would very much like to eat that crow. If he fails then we will be fortunate to win 5 or 6 games next year as the QB is the lynchpin of any team. I still have not given up on Navarre. We have only seen this guy play one game and half of it was with an injured hand. Frankly I see more promise in him than McCown as we have seen McCown for almost a full season. We need to start McCown for the rest of the season but if he has a horrible first half I would pull him and continue to take a look at Navarre (if his hand is healthy). It looks like to me McCown has played well enoung that the Cards will keep him along with Navarre so we need to sign the best we can from the FA's or perhaps make a trade as we have a few tradable commodities and some high draft picks.

I don't see the Cards going after Alexander and paying big bucks for him. That really isn't Denny's style. Signing guys like Berry, Macklin, etc make more sense. Agree with John H. that qb is the key for us next year (along with some RBs.) I have no clue who Denny will go after at QB but King will be gone for sure. McCown? Depends on the next three games. Off season will be very interesting.

I like Alexander, but he's not very consistent. The Cards don't have enough nationally-televised games for him to gain 1300 yards a season.

Is there any players in the NFL you think are good players ?

Or do they all vary on degrees of suckyness ?
:D
