FROSTBURG — Frostburg State split a doubleheader with West Virginia Wesleyan on Tuesday.

Wesleyan (6-18, 2-2 Mountain East Conference) took the first game 4-3 before the Bobcats (6-14, 2-2 MEC) won the rematch 11-7.

In the first game, Wesleyan’s four runs all came in the first inning.

An error on the center fielder brought in one of the runs and also put Gracie Arnol on second base.

Sage Haller hit a two-run home run in the third inning to put Frostburg on the board.

Ashlynn Routzahn doubled in the sixth inning, driving in Arden Miller.

The Bobcats had two runners in scoring position in the seventh inning, but failed to bring either runner home.

Kelsi Brown got the win across 5 2/3 innings, allowing six hits, three runs and two walks.

Katie Chappele took the loss in a complete game, allowing 10 hits, two earned runs and a walk.

In the second game, the Bobcats led 9-1 after three innings after scoring four runs in the second inning and five in the third.

Ally Meyers earned the win in four innings, allowing six hits, four runs and three walks with two strikeouts.

Allegany graduate Samara Funk led Frostburg with three hits including a pair of doubles.

Wesleyan used three pitchers who combined to allow five earned runs, 10 hits and nine walks.

Frostburg hosts Salem on Saturday for a doubleheader starting at noon.

Allegany 8-4 Corning 7-6

CUMBERLAND — Allegany College split a doubleheader against Corning on Monday.

The Trojans (8-4) took the first game 8-7 before the Red Barons (4-4) won the second game 6-4.

In the first game, ACM led 6-1 after four innings before Corning scored three runs in the fifth and sixth innings to even the score at seven.

The Trojans walked it off in the bottom of the seventh.

Kayla Hill went the distance and got the win after allowing 10 hits, seven runs and five walks with six strikeouts.

Natalie Melby and Ryanne Martinez each had three hits for Allegany with Melby earning a pair of RBI.

Gabryelle Pendo went 2 for 4 with a RBI and a double.

Kailey Gardner was charged with the loss, allowing 12 hits, six earned runs and two walks with five strikeouts.

The second game was called after five innings due to darkness.

The Trojans led 2-0 after one frame, but Corning outscored Allegany 6-2 over the next four innings.

Mariana Jones got the win after allowing eight hits, three earned runs and two walks with five strikeouts.

Brylee Bateson took the loss, allowing six hits and a walk.

Bateson was only charged with one earned run after the Trojans committed four errors.

Martinez, McKenna Richards and Kayla Hill each had a pair of hits for Allegany.

ACM heads to Montgomery for a doubleheader on Wednesday starting at 3 p.m.
