I posted on this topic earlier and after I went and read the ad, my opinion changed dramatically.

Jake did this because he truly wanted to thank the fans, and that is refreshing. It actually made me kind of sad.

I remember draft day when we drafted him, how excited I was. It was the single happiest moment as a Cards fan, happier than the day we won a playoff game (I thought that we would win many with Plummer  )....but it didn't work out.

It's really sad that it didn't. As much as I'm excused of being a Plummer basher, I really did like the guy, and I wished him the best. Losing Jake (not to sound like Tango) is liked getting dumped by that girlfriend that you really liked, but knew it wasn't meant to be.

Never met the guy however anyone who would take the time to purchased a full page ad to thank the area can't be alll bad. Yea he 's a so-so QB at best however keep in mind the Cards just got trashed by the Broncos and the fans are chanting for Jake and he's caught up in the moment. Jake fell in love with a moment. A few months down the road he's going to need to perform. It will be interesting to see how the fans of Denver feel about Jake if they haven't locked up a playoff position by mid December.

Let's face it his welcomed in AZ was worn out and he needed to go. Not sorry he's gone and glad Blake is here. He was always my first choice to replace Jake. Liked Blake since his Bengal days.

I think Jake truly liked being in AZ. He's been in the state for years. He probably is going to miss it.

PR move or not, I don't see anything wrong with thanking the fans, the owners and whoever else he thanked. More sports figures should be so PR savvy.

I, personally, think it was a classy and nice thing to do. Good luck to ya, Jake!

I was channel surfing yesterday and came across the Colorado/Arizona arena league game just as they were interviewing jake in the crowd. As always he says all the right things, loved his time in Arizona, time to move on, can't wait to get going in Denver, wants to win. Can't wait to learn from the coaches, learn from Elway.

I can't remember the exact wording but he said something like he knew last year was time to move on which was interesting since we kept reading he wanted to come back, sounded like he'd made up his mind to leave.

Sheesh!!!!

They guy is gone already!

Who cares WHY he took out the ad? Absent any person out there who absolutely KNOWS Jake Plummer's thoughts why don't we take it as it was written. He was paid well, appreciates his former employer paying him well and appreciates the fans who came out to see him play. Period.

Let it go for crying out loud!
