If the whistle never blew after Rolle forced the fumble, why weren't the Cardinals able to advance the ball? I don't understand what happened there...

At the game i couldn't hear what the ref was saying. But, the whistle had been blown and the ref was trying to signal the play as dead when Berry was running down the sideline.

But if the play had been blown dead (as an incomplete pass), then how did the Cardinals even gain possession? Very strange.

It is the new "Ed Hochuli" rule. Even if the whistle is blown on a incomplete pass/fumble decision it can still be reviewed. But if the whistle was blown then the fumble can not be advanced.

What did the guy say after he reviewed it then?

Personally, I never even got excited about the TD on the play. I thought it was dead all along.

The infamous SD/DEN game, that rule needs to be changed, we got robbed on the touchdown. They should have let the play run and after the touchdown review the play and either let the TD stand or call it an incomplete pass.

The old inadvertent whistle deal. If this same play happened last year we wouldn't of even gotten the ball.

He said upon review the play was a fumble, not an incomplete pass, Cardinals ball but they can't advance it.

I'm sure they said the refs had ruled incomplete on the play and blown the whistle, but we sure couldn't hear the whistle on tv.

They probably just made up the idea they blew the whistle or some ref just said yeah I blew the whistle even if they didn't they'd take his word for it.

The basic idea is they thought it was an incomplete pass, if anyone claims they blew it dead then it's dead, even if they really didn't.

Their idea is that it was messed up because of the fact the teams thought it was dead, specifically the new defense, former offense and so to be fair they just make up the fact they think it was blown dead.

I bet that's how it went down, cause you hear no whistles I reviewed the DVR too.

It's a crock but they're going to just cover themselves by saying that it was dead there, we're lucky to get the ball in their minds.
