make no mistake, the Giants are a very good team

however, a few thoughts:

Some tend to discount the Cardinals record as being a product of the weak NFC West. However-- the Cards have played only one more game against NFC West teams than the Giants.

Overall -- Cards opponents (net of facing AZ) are 45-45. Giants opponents are (net of facing the Giants) are 41-47-2.

Included in those results-- Giants got to face the Brad Johnson led Cowboys, while the Cards faced the Romo led Cowboys.

Again -- net/net-- the Giants are good. However, I think the gap between between them and the rest of the winning teams in the conference is much closer than some seem to beleive.

Nobody is giving us a chance. We will see. I truely beleive the Cards think they can beat the guys and that goes al long way to winning.

Yep. We should just concede the game to the Giants. They save the airfare and we save a pounding and risk of injury.
:)

I am so looking forward to this game. Our guys are going to come out smokin.

If Kurt doesn't turn the ball over we will win this game. It is as simple as that.

Hey, if the Bengals can give them a game at home and the Brownies can obliterate them on MNF, anything is possible

This is an interesting match-up. The Giants have one of the best pass defenses (8th in YPA, 5th in Comp %) and on overrated run D (16th in YPA). Meanwhile we have the best Pass O and worst run O. The Giants have the best run O while we have the 10th best run D in YPA, 7th in YPG. The Giants are 18th in Passing YPA, 19th in Comp % and YPG, while we are 20th in passing YPA D, and 16th in comp % D and YPG D.

Basically this means that our D matches up well with their O and their D matches up well with our O. If we want to beat them, we are going to have to make Eli turn the ball over like the Browns did. I predict Antron will be the deciding factor in a win, and a non-factor in a loss.

The biggest difference is this: the Giants can unleash a punishing ground game once they get up a TD or three. I've seen it against Seattle and SF already. The key is to get up on THEM, take them out of their run-based game plan and force Eli into mistakes. There is absolutely no reason the Cardinals can't pass on the Giants if the protection holds up. Just don't get into third and long situations and expect miracles.

If the UofP crowd can force some false starts and put the Midgets in a few 1st and 15s, it will be very, very helpful.

Which is why it wouldn't be a bad idea to take the ball instead of deferring it in this game. Score early, score ofter and make them have to drop back and pass.

Even though Eli is a Super Bowl champ, I'm not sold on him being a mentally sound QB. I think he can be rattled after a couple of shots

In looking at stats on nfl.com I noticed an odd arrangement. The Cards are ranked 11th in total defense. The four teams above them and the four teams below them are all teams the Cards have or will play this season.

Every non-division team we have played so far has a defense ranked in the top 16. Yet we have the #2 offense in the NFL and are 3-3 in those games. Really an amazing performance by our O and the team overall.

Another stat- Cards lead the NFL in fumbles forced and turnovers forced overall. And they have had a negative turnover ratio in three games this season. Guess which ones.

It's even more impressive when you consider how mediocre the ground game has been.

Hey, Drew Brees has had the opportunity to pad his stats against the defense-challenged AFC West and NFC North divisions. Kurt Warner and the Cardinals haven't had that opportunity(priviledge). Yet I hear a lot of know-nothings texting or phoning sports talk radio and saying Kurt doesn't deserve the MVP because the NFC West is so weak. Puh-leeeeze!

Dont get me started on the "Cards have padded their record in the weak NFC West" when comparing to any of the NFC East teams---

SO HAVE THE NFC EAST TEAMS! The Giants have had three games against the West, the Cards 4.

People-- and professional football writers -- just keep repeating the top part without ever really thinking about things
