Once again, he proves he is one of the dumbest basketball reporters on the planet. He says Lampe would have been better, but yet he doesn't mention his contract problems, which he says were no big deal.

Well, 2.2 million buyout plus he has 2 years on the contract, PLUS a TEAM option for several more years...

What an idiot.

I dont know if I agree Chap. Contract issues are always so tricky. Look back at the 2000 draft. Big Jake was projected as a lottery pick, but fell to the suns because of "contractual issues". Big Jake was with the suns that season, even though 15 teams were scared away from him. Euro contracts are a pain in the ass, but usually something can be worked out. I would assume that Lampe's agents and the knicks will bring it to a FIBA aribtrator, and in all likely hood win. I think he will be available to come over here within the next 2 years.

From what I had heard, it was FIBA that said he was bound to his Euro contract. In Big Jake's case, he never signed his new contract so that was why it was easier to get him over here.

Bah! I take what these "experts" say with an extremely small grain of salt. Chad Ford called our selection of Amare "strange" last year. I'm sure something similar was said when we chose Marion over Maggette. History has told me not to second-guess the Suns draft choices, I'm just going to trust them on this one.

I know just a few days ago I guaranteed that the Phoenix Suns would take Lampe if he was there at #17. I was obviously wrong. Obviously his contract situation played a major role in his slide. I also think that while he can shoot very well his lack of athleticism probably scared off a lot of teams.

I know I only saw a few video highlights, but I get scared when his highlights showed him doing layups from point-blank range. I felt like I was watching Big Jake. One of the things the Suns really like about Zarko is that he is apparently very good at running the floor.
