Chrissie Hynde was born September 7, 1951 in Akron, Ohio.
2. She went to Kent State University in Ohio and was there in 1970 when four students were killed by the National Guard during anti-Vietnam war protests.

He began his coaching career in 1973 as a graduate assistant at his alma mater Kent State. A defensive back for the Golden Flashes from 1970-72

I don't understand why everyone seems to think that it will take a proven NFL Head Coach to turn around this team. Let's go back a few years; New Orleans and Tampa Bay were two teams that were actually considered worse than the Cards. Each team hired proven NFL coaches with good track records, San Wyche and Mike Ditka. What happened? Continued mediocrity and poor performances. After these coaches they tabbed two "hot" coordinators for their HC positions; Tony Dungy and Jim Haslett. While Dungy put the foundation in place for a Super Bowl Champ and turned TB into a winner, Haslett was able to coach NO to their only playoff win in the history of their team.

My point: Prior success does not guarantee the same success for other teams, especially in AZ.

Different era.....but the recent ones sans Jimmy Johnson haven't been too great namely Spurrier & Erickson

I was thinking the same thing. But I still think Fassel is going to Buffalo.

Don't you think the fact that Green was well prepared, and Fassel not as prepared (from what I'm hearing), is because Fassel and not Green has been busy actually coaching a team up until very recently? Green had the time to research, prepare, etc...

I have a friend in Buffalo..he said everyone is buzzing about how Fassel is a done deal there and that the whole Az and Washington interview was just a smoke screen. I was hoping Fassel would come here but I guess I would consider Denny Green a "score" for the Cards....

I thought that Charlie Weis was "a done deal" in B-lo, and that Fassel was just the formality. I'd heard that the GM was throwing all sorts of superlatives around about how the interview went, and his relationship to Bledsoe.

I dunno... but Buffalo might be the second-best job available after the Atlanta opening.

FASSEL INTERVIEWS WITH BILLS, TALKS EXCLUSIVELY WITH CHANNEL 2

Former New York Giants head coach Jim Fassel was in Western New York Tuesday, discussing the vacant Bills head coaching position with general manager Tom Donohoe.

Channel 2 News talked exclusively with Fassel following the meeting. Fassel said things went well.

"It was a good day," Fassel told Channel 2's Adam Benigni. "I've always had a lot of respect for this organization, so it was a good day to come and visit with everybody."

The Bills are expected to be the last stop on Fassel's itinerary. He interviewed for job openings with the Cardinals and Redskins this past weekend. Fassel is also expected to round out the initial list of candidates for the Bills, one of seven teams in the midst of a coaching search.

"I'm keeping an open mind. I don't have a place that I specifically want to go. At some point in time, we'll get down and talk specifics, but right now I have a totally open mind."

As for a time frame, Fassel backed away from earlier reports that said he wanted to have something finalized by the end of the week.

"I thought that that might happen, but like everything else, a lot of guys go through different processes. But I would imagine it would be sometime over the weekend or something like that, I'd have a pretty good idea."

A report in Sunday's Chicago Sun Times quotes a league source as saying the Bills are already talking with Fassel and his agent in terms of an offer. Fassel's agent denies that saying his client is the front runner for jobs in Washington, Arizona, and Buffalo - and is considering his options.

The Bills aren't commenting, saying only that they'll confirm any interviews once they've taken place.

President and General Manager Tom Donahoe has already spoken with former Chicago Bears head coach Dick Jauron, Rams Defensive Coordinator Lovie Smith, as well as Patriots Defensive Coordinator Romeo Crennel, and Pats Offensive Coordinator Charlie Weis.

Saban is a horse of a different color; he had NFL experience and not just the collegiate ranks. I think that contributed greatly to his success. Just like Carroll.

Someone like Saban coming from the college ranks isn't so bad as someone like Spurrier.

The NFL these days, with the salary cap and the incredible amounts of money thrown around, not to mention the unbelievably better athletes you face day to day, is not an area for the normal college coach. Oh, and to top it all off, the college coach *usually* doesn't have a network of NFL caliber coaches to bring to the table in a situation like we have here, where there are no coaches left and we are starting from scratch.

I don't even take Saban in that scenario...

ok i worked for jurecki for a period of time and the man knows his ****. He is plugged into the cards organization like no other. I personally know him and he doesnt go on with anything unless he has serious sources to back up what he is saying. Unless you have been in the radio business you dont understand what goes on with a guy like mj when he comes out with something like that. Mj is a smart guy and knows what hes talkin about.
