Except now chemistry will be at an all time low. If you thought Marion was an issue before he's gonna be horrible after being shopped all summer and Amare will most certainly feel disrespected as well.

This is not that kind of stuff that pulls a team together. They're gonna need Dr. Phil on speed dial when this is all done.

I think that more posters will need DR Phil than suns players after the messiah(KG) trade doesnt happen. "Lock all 2nd floor windows, and call DR. Phil after the draft".

I don't know about that. It could go the other way. Marion could be feeling like he just dodged a bullet, and just be absolutely thrilled that he is still here.

It will become a chemistry problem if they start losing big time. Then all the sour grapes will come to the surface so each player can deflect criticism to someone else.

Say, maybe I ought to go for that Dr Phil gig.. . .

Sarver has to be smart enough to know that this is a self-defeating cycle, right? How could he not know? If you are in cap trouble - you prize picks! Especially those out of the lottery (as far as money goes).

They also have to know how those picks work out sometimes. There will be Josh Howard, Boozer, Tayshaun Prince types of picks in this draft.

They have to stop trading picks to move contracts. They just have to stop it!

Trading picks to move contracts is preferable to selling them for cash.

Well take it for what its worth but Jim Gray just said that the ATL never had a chance because the Suns were not contacted (evidently the Wolves and the Hawks tried to get this to work on their own ) and a trade of Amare "isn't even on the radar."

Amen....and Amen.

Not happening. Minny and ATL trying to broker a bogus deal without even contacting the Suns. Nice.

What about the 3-way with boston, what did jimbo say about that? Will Boston take Marion even without a guarantee to accept an extension, or is that deal off?

Didn't say anything new on the front but I'll keep watching to see what I can find out

Jimbo is a moron, but no mention of a boston/minny/phx deal.

I think it's getting pretty safe to say we are bringing back the same team next year.

Without Al Jefferson in the deal, the deal isn't happening.

Boston has said no Jefferson.

Did jim say that, or is that your speculation?

This has been reported in the deal. The deal happening or not happening has been a two part thing.

Part 1: Marion extension to make Boston happy.

Part 2: Minnesota gets Jefferson.

Boston won't send Jefferson unless they are the team that ends up with Garnett.

Get used to the idea of the current team. It's less than 23 hours from the draft and any Garnett trade has seemed further away than ever.

No Jefferson = no deal.

That's been said for the past day or so.

The Atlanta trade would have been the dumbest thing ever...

We would trade Amare and more for KG, and not even get a lottery pick in return.
We make Atlanta the best team in the East, killing our 2008 draft pick.

That's beyond ridiculous, good job Minnesota/Atlanta dreaming this stuiff up.

We would have to get like Josh Smith or Marvin Williams at least being throw in our direction but that doesn't make too much sense since we are trading Amare and not Marion.

Minnesota is going to get desperate to trade Garnett, they won't want to keep him. The Suns are smart to keep Minnesota talking to them but making no deal until Minnesota realizes they must lower their demands.

It is hard to tell what is happening, but here are at least of the theories:

1. McHale and Taylor are playing games: They are planting a variety of rumors to distract from the fact that they have been painted into a corner.

2. National Media Turns Speculation Into Rumors: It's all their fault.

3. Other Teams Are Messing Around: It is possible that the Hawks are playing games to generate interest in the #3.

4. People Who Should Be Good Resources Are Misinformed: I don't believe this, but that's always the reporter's bail out.

5. There Is So Much Manure, There Must Be Pony Buried Here Somewhere: (I prefer this to the smoke and fire analogy). Perhaps the "throw enough **** against the wall, some of it might stick.

My feeling is that going through super highs and lows based on this stuff is just silly. There will be plenty of time to react when there is actually something to react to.

Of course McHale is playing games here. Taylor already mandated that KG be traded somewhere he wants to go, LA or PHX. McHale is simply trying to get the best deal for KG and that is why we are seeing all of these bogus rumors flying. Plus BSPN reports this crap to increase ratings.

If Amare is off the table, we can safely assume PHX will remain the same as they were last year. Marion wants no part of Boston so that 3-way is nixed. Last I heard Boston really wants to draft Yi with that 5 pick, so it's unlikely they give it away. If they get Yi, he can make the kind of impact that Pierce is demanding so that should shut him up. At this late in the game I'd say PHX is not even thinking about Garnett and focused more on landing that top 10 draft pick. Looks like Kerr believes this squad, in its current shape, has enough talent to win it all next year.

So that leaves the T-Wolves with nothing as of this point. They don't like the Laker deal, and they are not getting anything else that is better at this point. So they can either keep KG or deal him to the Lakers. I think that dealing KG to LA has been their backup plan all along and all this crap we have seen has been an attempt to find a better deal.

So Gambo was right...

On this one thing he was correct.

However some of the other things he said (i.e. trading Kurt Thomas would get the Suns under the cap <-- I'm not kidding he actually said this) have been completely off

Gambo is basically ranting about how the national media isn't using reliable sources, and how he is. He's refusing to speculate on the "big" trades unlike ESPN, because he feels that they're not legit.

Unfortunately, he is usually right. So we'll see.

So, you want Amare out as much as I want Marion?;)

NBA official: Chances for 3-team deal overblown

PHOENIX (AP) -- Reports the Phoenix Suns were nearing a deal to acquire Kevin Garnett were downplayed Wednesday by an NBA official with knowledge of the situation. Contrary to several reports, the official told The Associated Press, the sides were not close to a three-team deal that would send Amare Stoudemire to Atlanta and Garnett from Minnesota to Phoenix.
