Gambo said that the Suns have no interest in Dampier, since they feel he was probably just trying harder because it was a contract year. He also said his teammates don't like him.

He said that if they don't get Okur that they might bring in Vlade on a 1 year deal, and that if they don't get Vlade they might bring back McDyess. He said they like McDyess' influence on Amare.

Please no Okur.
And I think he is right about McDyess.

It was a contract year for Okur too. Are we to believe that this was his best effort? If it was, then he sucks even worse than we all thought.

Keep Dice

I did like the way that they played together, let's just find some backup in FA or in the draft for now. I absolutely do not want to waste money on another Luc Longley. Okur is a mirror image of that scenerio where a mediocre center wins a championship and gets credit with a big long term contract.

I've given up trying to educate people about Okur, but I'll mention 'in passing' that you're utterly mistaken here.

Okur is going to get big money based on what he did earlier in the year (when he was getting significant minutes), the fact that he's the star player for a Turkish team that's competitive against European national teams fronted by NBA stars, and the fact that he's young enough and inexperienced enough that he should make significant improvement in the future. Detroit winning a championship has nothing to do with it.

He is still vastly overrated. :p

Okur was quite weak in the finals. But, maybe he could develop into a Brad Miller type of player in a couple of years. He has the tools.
