-JJ as a primary point guard is a mistake. I agree. JJ is a decent backup point guard. He might even put up decent numbers as the starting point guard, but the team would be better with a good traditional point guard. JJ is a shooting guard. That's where he is at his best.

Joe Mama

I agree whole heartedly, he will turn into a Marbury type point, holding the ball for 20 of the 24 second shot clock.

I do believe he was hurt in the offense by Q, JJ would have been more effective. I think that is where the comment " I don't want to be Steve Nash's decoy" is directed. Q obviously took more 3's than JJ and he might perceive that Nash favored Q over him.

Actually, JJ was Q's decoy.

Teams would close out on Joe, but leave Q wide open. That is why he got so many 3 pointers.

It is also why is was a lot less effective when Joe when down (where in Memphis is played great)

That is how you and I would perceive it but JJ must have thought differently.

the 2 picks:

atl pick : lottery protected next year, top 3 protected the year after, unconditional after that.

lakers pick : top 10 protected next year

Are you sure about the Atlanta pick? If so the Oh Hells Yeah! Do it!

I like Joe, but his role can be filled easily enough with vets, until the pick we get turns into something good. I just pray that the Suns don't trade it...

Sigh.

I know the logic in the S&T--it's the same logic that New Jersey used with Kenyon Martin. It's really annoying to see the BT tear apart a 62-win team, though, especially since they've got a bunch of old players now, players for whom next season might be their last good season.

I wonder what the Suns would have done with their other assets if they'd known, at the beginning of the summer, that they would be making this deal.

Gambo and Ash must be sucking up to try and get Sarver on their program tomorrow. ;)

Oh yeah, one more thing: after the Chicago debacle, I'm not interested in drooling over other team's conditional draft picks. I'll be treating them as randomly awarded future mid-to-late first round picks, i.e. pretty much worthless in the Suns' hands, as long as they feel they can compete without them.

JJ is such a hypocrite. Grandstanding the team that practically raise him to the player he is now. Why can't he just communicate than just play hide & seek the Suns brass and even his teammates? I don't understand what goes in his brain. I don't know what the Hawks fed him, but, he's turning out to be one selfish prick.

on tuesdays show gambo kept reiterating what he said on monday. people brought up what was being said on bickley (pro-JJ, anti-Suns), and gambo responded by saying THAT was spin, what he says he KNOWS to be the truth (his exact words). Then he went on to say that he talked to a player today and was told by the player that JJ wanted out.

take it with a grain of salt...i take it for even less than that.

As much as I think Gambo is an idiot, his sources have been dead on in this whole story. I would tend to believe him right now.
