As we start the bottom of the 3rd, this has been a pitchers' battle.

The only hit on either side is a single by Ketel Marte.

Robbie has struck out 6 out of 9 in the first three innings.

And not walking a lot of guys, which he had done in his previous two games.

Peralta doubles Escobar to 3B with one out.

The Freight Train is a doubles machine.
Nine in twelve games so far.

Time for a couple of runs.

Well, a wild pitch and a run scores. Peralta on 3B.

And he is stranded there. 1-0 D-backs.

Escobar's home run down the line . . . is a foul ball.

But it is good to see that he is starting to look better at the plate.

I miss that how close was it
Close enough for Steve to call it a HR before seeing the replay.

Meanwhile, Robbie has struck out 10 in the first 5 innings.

And within two minutes of Steve saying that "Robbie is
pitching a no hitter" . . . Robbie gives up a hit.

Thanks a lot, Steve! :)

Bad throw on a steal attempt and Texas has the tying run on 3B with no one out.

Lopez and Chafin throwing in the bullpen here in the 6th inning.

Line drive off the glove of Ahmed and it is a 1-1 game. Robbie is leaving.

And Yoan Lopez comes in to pitch with 14 consecutive scoreless appearances behind him.

And he gives up a ground rule double.

It is strange to see Hunter Pence, the man with too many moving parts, not in a Giants uniform.

A walk and the passes are loaded. And Chafin comes in. I don't have good feelings about this.

Chafin, the lefty, facing Gallo, the lefty. Strikes him out on 3 sliders.

Then Chafin induces a double play ball. Whew!

I love to hate on Chafin but he did fantastic that inning. Bases loaded no outs and they get zilch!

Really sucks when your first baseman is your worst hitter.

Most franchises have a handful of guys that can hit but can’t field. Don’t the Dbacks have one that can play first.

Archie is in a double switch (with Ahmed out) and gives up a hit, driving in the lead run for Texas.

Archie is one of those pitchers who is 1,000 times better starting an inning than coming in with runners inherited. I'm shocked Torey hasn't figured that out yet.

Archie seems to be good at giving up a homer or 2 each time he pitches.

Ouch, Walker with 4 strikeouts tonight.
I had high hopes for Christian Walker, but after a quick start, he is failing. Ironically it began when Lamb was injured.

I wonder what the D-backs hitting coaches think about it.

Meanwhile, Texas added another run on a close play at the plate to lead 4-1.

Now it is 5-1. And now the bases are loaded. 'Looks like we'll split the 2-game series.

Andriese vs. Andrus. I wonder if Andrus going through life with the name Elvis
had any interesting encounters growing up. "Thank you very much."
Elvis has left the building. (No, he didn't hit a home run.) :)

Matt Koch is on to pitch. He has given up 6 home runs this season in 7 1/3 innings.

Andriese pitched two innings last night. Why the heck is he pitching tonight?
