First pitch is set for 5:10 p.m Arizona time
Our hitting has become pathetic. Did the rest of the league catch up to our hitters?
If so, I wonder what they found. I thought when the D-backs went doubles crazy
(which I was happy to see), they wouldn't be able to stop us.
Chris Walker is representative of the disappointment. What did pitchers find in
his swing after his early games? He didn't try for HR's. Rather, he hit a lot of
ground balls.
One of our best hitters is Nick Ahmed. There's a reversal. BB has been saying
that "something" has been done to the baseballs (to juice them up). It hasn't
helped the D-backs. Are they still using the humidors at Chase? That would
explain a lot.
But the starting pitchers aren't helping by giving up early runs and the hitters
must come from behind. Which then puts pressure on the pitchers.
Just as today's game. 4-0 Padres at the end of 4.
The D-backs seem to mount late rallies but, by then, it's been too little, too late.
Just a poorly coached/managed team, as well as being short on talent.
That inning result had nothing to do with coaching.
Walker hasn't looked good since LA. I can now see why losing Lamb really really hurts
All the hand wringing about starting Walker...may have been a touch of a overreaction to a couple of games in LA
Actually, he was their best player in Spring Training as well.
Right now, nobody is playing well, though the constant line-up shuffling and shifting of bulloen roles certainly isn't helping.
Lovello is just trying to find some offensive continuity. When there is no one on your roster who scares the opposing team, you have to shuffle crap around until it works.

Has Lamb ever been a difference maker? If he were to come back today, based on the past, it wouldn't change things.Walker was never going to start coming out of spring training. It was always Lamb's job.
