Bats have been super quiet so far. Kelly not as sharp this go around, hopefully he can keep it to 4 runs.

We look lifeless on offense so far, in terms of stringing hits together.

Our hitting has become pathetic. Did the rest of the league catch up to our hitters?

If so, I wonder what they found. I thought when the D-backs went doubles crazy
(which I was happy to see), they wouldn't be able to stop us.

Chris Walker is representative of the disappointment. What did pitchers find in
his swing after his early games? He didn't try for HR's. Rather, he hit a lot of
ground balls.

One of our best hitters is Nick Ahmed. There's a reversal. BB has been saying
that "something" has been done to the baseballs (to juice them up). It hasn't
helped the D-backs. Are they still using the humidors at Chase? That would
explain a lot.

But the starting pitchers aren't helping by giving up early runs and the hitters
must come from behind. Which then puts pressure on the pitchers.

Just as today's game. 4-0 Padres at the end of 4.

The D-backs seem to mount late rallies but, by then, it's been too little, too late.

My prediction of 61 wins is looking pretty good...

Horrible. Bases loaded, one out, and Nick grounds to the pitcher for a double play.

Team continues to be horrendous with a runner on 3rd and less than 2 outs, as Ahmed grounds into a double play to leave the bases loaded.

Just a poorly coached/managed team, as well as being short on talent.

DBacks lose again. Could not bring Marte home from 2nd with no out.

Walker hasn't looked good since LA. I can now see why losing Lamb really really hurts

We will be 10+ games out I imagine in about a month. This is an awful baseball team that got hot offensively by luck in the beginning of the season. Im afraid this is who this team is, a shallow, boring, non-productive baseball team. But I don't blame Hazen, he's made good moves, its the previous regime that screwed this franchise, he's just cleaning up the mess.

All the hand wringing about starting Walker...may have been a touch of a overreaction to a couple of games in LA

Actually, he was their best player in Spring Training as well.

Right now, nobody is playing well, though the constant line-up shuffling and shifting of bulloen roles certainly isn't helping.

Lovello is just trying to find some offensive continuity. When there is no one on your roster who scares the opposing team, you have to shuffle crap around until it works.

It was working just fine when we scored 15 against the Red Sox, and yet he kept shuffling crap, anyway...

Walker was never going to start coming out of spring training. It was always Lamb's job.

Has Lamb ever been a difference maker? If he were to come back today, based on the past, it wouldn't change things.

Peralta and Jones are our only significant offense. Other teams have more than two.

And with our weak starting and reliefs corps, that spells mediocrity. Sad but true.
