D-backs, Cardinals to be featured in YouTube Game of the Week
Catching an Arizona Diamondbacks day game might have gotten a little easier this Wednesday.

Scheduled for a 12:40 p.m. first pitch, The D-backs will take on the St. Louis Cardinals from Chase Field with the exclusive broadcast set to be played on YouTube TV.

The Cardinals, who have already clinched a spot in the 2019 MLB Playoffs, will send Michael Wacha to the mound to face Merrill Kelly for the D-backs.

BC should be happy. Cron gets a start
C'mon! You know damn well that a sporadic start every few months is hardly what I have been advocating.

With his power, I wanted to see Cron given the chance to show what he could do at the Major League
level for almost all season. Especially on a team that has left way too many runners on base.

You are completely misinterpreting...i am guessing you are happy he is finally getting a shot. Guess I should simply avoid posting.

You keep saying that! It is difficult to share opinions with
someone whose posts are emotional and hardly specific.

As I posted, one start every few months could hardly be
called getting a shot.

Cron is listed as a 1B/3B. He is flexible. Imagine if he were
given a chance to replace the injured Peralta in LF, rather
than the light hitting Rojas, who was also primarily an
infielder. Torey has shown that he likes playing people out
of position.

And if Marte, with his power hitting emergence had been
slotted in the heart of the batting order instead of going
back and forth primarily between leadoff and second.

A daily 3-4-5 combination of Marte/Cron/Escobar after
two get-on-base guys at 1 & 2 would have made Torey
a hero. Picture that . . . if they had been given a chance
to settle into a groove.

Instead, Marte didn't get the RBI's to go with his power
and Cron sat on the bench waiting for an occasional
pinch hitting call. Two power hitters not used to their
advantage. Torey Lovullo was his own worst enemy.
He is the reason for our hight left-on-base percent.

We get a man on second no outs, can't score him. Typical Dbacks - three strike outs to end inning (with a Cron single that only moves him to third.

Rojas - gotta get at least a sac fly if you want to be a big leaguer

As I suggested in Post #10, Cron, rather than Rojas, should have been
the infielder moved to LF when we lost Peralta. A proven RBI guy.

Ahh early game today. BC, you're awake. I was following last night's game on ESPN gamecast in bed, but fell asleep after the 18th inning. :D:)

Well. at least we scored 2 runs on the Flores double.

With the loss of Marte, what a surprise run producer
Flores has proven to be.

But it is questionable if he would have the stamina
to do it over a full season.

Although he is only 28, Steve and BB alluded to that
recently.

Locastro with two hits, Flores and Cron each with one so far.

Bench guys. It is too bad it takes being eliminated from the
Wild Card to find (part of) a winning combination.

A steal of home. Did anyone see if it was a straight steal and what the circumstances were?

Listening on the radio, I missed exactly what happened. But, I think maybe a pick off attempt at first and then he beat the throw from first to home?

Thanks, gimpy.

Are you getting any of the hurricane or tornado in Flag?

I see the D-backs are hitless since leadoff hitter Locastro's first two at-bats.

I can't remember a team that goes so cold on a regular basis.

I guess it's, "Hey, we scored two runs. We're invincible."

And everybody swings for the fences.

It just started to rain a little, not much, enough to get the car /road wet. That's all. Day before yesterday, we got about 6 tenths of an inch per the weather app. 10-20% chance next few days.

Can't tell about the settings for the fences since I'm listening on the radio. Whoops, Cards just hit a homer.

Man I cant stand YouTube or FB coverage of the games. The announcers seem to just talk about themselves or do player interviews during the game. I guess I'm just so used to Fox AZ.

Seven runs in the 6th to make it 9-5.

You have to give credit to Flores. 3-for-4 with 4 RBI's batting in front of (weak as a) Lamb 0-for-4 with 3 strikeouts and a batting average of .187 (it hurts to even post that).

Flores probably hasn't seen one good pitch.

What is with Lamb? Seriously. From all the times I've seen him grinning, is he taking it seriously?
