My boy does it again. A 3-run homer to CF. We're tied.

MVP. MVP. And he doesn't even have a regular job.

As I previously suggested, put Lamb in RF, Walker at 1B and Jones to back to CF.

Yoshi gives up the lead with 2 outs in the bottom of the 7th.

A walk and caught trying for 2B. Then 3 hits, if I kept track correctly.

Dodgers lead 4-3 going into the 8th. Damn!

Adam Jones with a double. Walker and he are carrying the offense.

Runners on 2nd and 3rd with one out. And Lamb gets an intentional walk.

Marte coming up with the bases loaded and the D-backs down by 1.

Ketel hits into a force out. Tie game.

Ahmed up with two outs and runners on 1st & 3rd.

And Ahmed grounds out.

Archie is in the pitch the 8th.

Archie with two outs and a runner on 2B. Archie vs. Turner. The Beard vs. The Beard.

A squibbler. Runners on 1st & 3rd. Then Archie gets out of the inning.

Top of the 9th coming up. With closer Kenley Jansen pitching.

And it's a 1-2-3 inning. Bottom of the 9th coming up - tie game.

Pollock hits it right off Lamb's mitt for an error. Walker should have been kept in the game at 1B for defensive purposes after he pinch hit the HR.

Now a walk. Runners on 1st & 2nd with no outs. Pederson (lefty vs. lefty) couldn't sacrifice and lines out to CF. Dyson with a sliding catch.

And a double play started by Lamb to send it into extra innings.

Glad the Jake Lamb error and Chafin walk didn’t lose the game for us. Extra innings here we go!

Holland, our new closer, is ready in the bullpen.

I don't agree with bringing him in unless and until we take the lead in the top of an extra inning. He's the closer.

Andriese is now throwing in the bullpen. And Chafin pitching the bottom of the 10th.

Chafin gives up a single and Andreise comes in with 2 outs. Wild pitch. Winning run on 2nd base.

Another wild pitch hits the ump in the nose. Runners on 2B and 3B.

A 3-2 walk and the bases are loaded. Up comes Pollock with a walk, single, double and HR so far in this 4+ hour game.

Whew. Andreise reached behind his back to snare the comebacker, leaving the bases loaded.

Andriese is hitting with runners on 1st and 2nd and two outs in the top of the 11th and strikes out.

Holland is our only other available pitcher in the bullpen. Torey had no choice but to leave Andriese in.

It is after midnight (L.A. and Phoenix time) and, with 2 outs, the Dodger runner is called out trying to steal 2B.

It looked like was safe, but the decision has been upheld and we go to the 12th. Probably because they took way more than the 2 minutes allotted and the call stands.

Meanwhile the home plate ump who had been hit in the mask and the hand is leaving injured and another ump will take over behind the plate.

We're over 5 hours now. Well, at least, this game is more fun than yesterday's opener.

Sandy Koufax is still at the game. As the guys said, they may need him to pitch.

Peralta with a 2-out double in the 12th but is left on base.

And Andreise is still pitching. Almost at 40 pitches.

Runners on 1B and 2B with 2 outs and pitcher Ryu is pinch hitting for the Dodgers.

Ahmed just gets him out and, ho hum, it's the top of the 13th.

Carson Kelly pinch hitting in his 1st at-bat as a D-back with a bloop single. D-backs lead 5-4. And a walk loads the bases for Escobar.

Finally, we'll need our closer. Now it is up to Holland to get the save for the D-backs.

Torey managed a good game. A six hour game. And, BTW, Avila caught a great game.
