Steve mentioned all three games vs. the Cubs are day games.

The original D-backs schedule showed Saturday's and Sunday's games as TBD.

What did they do at Wrigley? Take down the lights? :)

Can beat anyone, just have to remember to bring the bats.

On another note...... anyone else look at Lovullo and see Joe Gatto from Impractical Jokers?

It is cold in Chicago with 25 mph winds. Kelly throws over 30 pitches, stranding two walks in scoring position.

It is so windy . . . How windy is it? . . . It blew Steve's TV monitor off his desk (no kidding) and out of the booth.

He announced the first inning without seeing what we were seeing. And with a lot of foul balls, it took close to half an hour.

87 degrees in Phoenix on its way to 97 and, seeing the way they were bundled up on the field, I shivered just watching them.

In the 2nd inning, Kelly had the bases loaded and two outs.

A popup behind 2B, which should have ended the inning, was blowing in the wind,
dropped in and 2 runs scored.

A bad break for the D-backs, but Kelly's lack of control set it all up to happen.

Another walk loads the bases again. And Baez tries to bunt with two outs???

Bases left loaded with Kelly at 59 pitches in two innings.

The temperature in Chicago is 44 (wind chill feels like 33).

That explains part of Kelly's problems.

In his 3 2/3 innings, Kelly gave up 3 runs, 6 hits and 7 walks while throwing over 100 pitches.

By comparison, the D-backs have 0 runs on 2 hits (Walker and Marte -- a bunt) and a walk by Escobar.

It is getting closer to Walker time.

And Steve is still waiting for a TV monitor.

I want DYSON to lead off and play CF
Especially in the windy conditions. This is not the place for Marte to practice playing CF.

And especially considering we played a day game, not a night game, yesterday.

They just announced the attendance as 34,000 (Eskimos?).

Koch wild pitches in a run, then allows another on a single, in the bottom
of the 6th with one out and the Cubs extend their lead to 5-0.

Then he hits a batter (his second this inning) and there are runners on
1st and 2nd.

Oh, the middle inning relievers. :(

And the D-backs have used up all but two mound visits this game.

Now Koch has the bases loaded with two outs and strikes him out.

Kendricks, the Cubs pitcher, who lost his first three games this season, is in control.

He struck out 10 total and has struck out 10 in six innings so far this game.

Walker gets his second hit of the game and is on 1B with one out.
He is tied for second in the league with 95-miles-or-better hits.

D-backs lose 5-1. As BB said, not a very inspirational game,
with Marte driving in Peralta.

One more day of windy cold before it warms up Sunday.

I hope we can make adjustments tomorrow.
