Sheesh. Just made an observation. Ahmed's fielding has been atrocious this year, and for a defensive shortstop who could never hit, that's not a good thing.
At least Escobar can redeem himself at the plate, like he just did. Ahmed now brings nothing to the table.
Atrocious? He’s got a .985 Fielding % this season. .980 for his career!
He also has 14 RBI for essentially the first month of the year. That a little more than “bringing nothing to the table.”
Ahmed is what he is. A far better than average defender who, at best, will give you a .240/250 batting average, 8-10 HR’s and 6O-70RBI.
He will never be a key offensive contributor and should never be expected to be that. He is best suited on a team that wouldn’t need to rely on him at the plate, as he is a plus defender.
CO had 4 unearned runs!Fun game to watch with all the offense. Glad we held on for the win!
Just FYI, Ahmed's .985 fielding percentage currently ranks him 44th among MLB shortstops...
LOL... Let me help you a little and suggest you learn what “TC” stands for.
Ahmed ranks 6th in the majors for SS’s with a minimum of 100 chances. [emoji106] [emoji6]

Try 10th, and with Seager at 98 Total Chances, 11th for all intents and purposes.
Not sure where you’re looking... but according to MLB.com, he’s 6th: http://m.mlb.com/stats/?season=2019...e=R&position=6&sort_column=tc&player_pool=ALL
Edit: In terms of total chances, he’s 6th.
Anyone who has ever watched Nick in the field knows he is way beyond average on defense. I'll take Nick and his .250 BA and great fielding all day long. He is not the problem. Not sure where you’re looking... but according to MLB.com, he’s 6th: http://m.mlb.com/stats/?season=2019...e=R&position=6&sort_column=tc&player_pool=ALL

And, he’s made all of TWO errors thus far this season.
Check back on this topic come the all star break! [emoji106]
