Aaaaaand...you can now officially add Zac Gallen (5 ER, 5 Hits, 4 BB, in 2 innings to start this game, and now becoming progressively worse in his last three starts) to the ever-growing list of players Torey has ruined.

Way to go...

The League has adjusted to Gallen. Does the coaching staff have the talent to help Gallen adjust to that?

They just showed a clip of Gonzo who, at age 39, became the first batter ever to hit 50 doubles in a season
at that age.

If only Lovullo would encourage the current D-backs to make the line drive double into the gap(s) as their
go-to swing, instead of fly balls. So much easier than trying to hit it out of the park.

Again, the answer to your question is crystal clear, given than Gallen is just getting worse and worse...

I'll be damned...Mathisen finally did something good, after the formerly fundamentally sound Peralta couldn't get a run in with the bases loaded and nobody out...

Yup, with the bases loaded and no one out, and the D-backs
down by five, they scored two, reloaded the bases and left
them loaded.

And the Mariners with a 2-run HR in the 5th for a 7-2 lead.

After a, gasp, 2-game winning streak, the D-backs are back
to . . . being the D-backs.

I think your expectations for a guy with only 24 big league starts are perhaps too lofty?

All I know is he looked quite promising, and now he increasingly sucks (while the player we traded for him is steadily improving in Florida)...

Meanwhile, Robbie Ray has suddenly learned how to pitch again, surrendering only 1 run in 5 innings and getting the win for Toronto.

If anything is an indictment on Torey it is how much worse the pitchers are here, and how much better they become when they leave...
