I agree with Chaplin. They'll have to double Duncan most if not all of the time. Thomas will pick up fouls, and he won't have the gas for more than 35 minutes anyway. The Suns' only chance is to make the game helter-skelter and hope that the Spurs get confused in their decision-making, like they did in the last few minutes of Game 4.

If the game is still competitive in the second half, expect San Antonio to go to a zone. The Suns' two best weapons against the zone are both unavailable, so they'll have a hell of a time getting decent shots.

how old is finley? how old is duncan? how old is manu? their main guys are definitely up there in age. and this they're going to be playing the 3rd high paced game in just 5 days. who runs out of gas now?
Finley I'll give you - he's 34. Duncan is 31 and Ginobili is 29 - not exactly geriatrics.

One-on-one coverage will put KT in foul trouble quick. We don't have the luxury of having Amare and/or Boris to guard Duncan when KT has a lot of fouls. I'd rather a more replaceable guy like James Jones get the fouls before KT. And he can take those on the double-team.

I'm with you in bringing JJ over on the double team. I just don't think that the Suns can do that for 48 minutes and have a shot at winning. They have to mix up the double teaming. They also have to mix up when they will double team. (as soon as he gets the ball, as soon as he puts the ball on the floor, etc)

yeah but remember duncan is 7foot whatever. slow long legs will get tired if we run tonight.

and remember its his 3rd high paced game in 5days.

He did start James Jones 5 or 6 games before the end of the playoffs. I thought that was surprising. Actually starting KT in Game 2 was surprising too.

jones has been in and out of the starting line up all year. he and diaw have been trading places. until mike d decided diaw off the bench was best.

so thats one suprise if you could call it that. it was neccessary, and must-have-to, to start kt on td.

Amare was guarding Elson or Oberto the entire time so losing him isn't a big deal defensively. Jones should be able to guard either of them. Kurt will still be on Duncan 90% of the time he is in.

Yes, he and Diaw had been trading places, but Coach D going with JJ so late in the season was a surprise to most.

I don't think that it was a "necessity" that we started KT. It was just the most logical adjustment to make. D'Antoni is known for not making adjustments, so that could be considered a surprise too.

its mostly the inside presence on the offensive side that we are missing. we've seen amare go in and shoot over or dunk. and surprisingly diaw has been going akeem olijuwan on timmy.

i dont think burke can do that for us.

He can crash the offensive boards though, something that NO Sun has been doing.

well if timmy is in, KT is in. i think initially it didn't matter if kt started or not, he just needed more minutes overall in this series. but now if timmy starts, KT starts.

Again, that was the adjustment that was made in game 2. That was not the case in game 1.

its rare, but he does do this:
burke comes flying in for a tap-in dunk. that'll wake the crowd up.lol

Exactly. If Burke shoots up a 3, or blocks a shot, the crowd will go B-A-N-A-N-A-S!

if burke can hit that 10-15 foot jumper, that's be sweet. 3's, he can hit them, but i think coach d would rather see the others shoot that.lol

Well, it will force Duncan out of the paint. Not sure he wants him to do that either.
