BC is very critical of Torey at times. But he also gives credit when credit is due. That is the difference. DBacks score 15 runs in a game and you say nothing. They score zero in the next game and you blame Torey. That happens all the time. Sure, criticize but give credit when due.

I have, including when the team got off to its surprisingly good start, and when it even appeared Torey was learning from his past mistakes as a manager. Unfortunately, his biggest issues as a manager have once again appeared, namely over-managing or over-tinkering, poor pitcher management, failure to manufacture runs and excessive loyalty to certain players to the detriment of the rest of the team.

Yet he has gotten more out this team than most have expected. Your 61 games won projection will be history. But will you give credit? No. You think you are smarter baseball wise than him. You are wrong. Balance, that is the key.

Up until the last losing road trip followed by a bad homestand, I would concur.

Starting then, however, this is pretty much what I was expecting.

Torey is a great motivator and communicator, and I applaud him for always getting seasons off to good starts.

Unfortunately, the league and the rigors of a long season then catch up to him, and he still doesn't know how to adjust.

Torey might very well be the best bench coach ever. As a manager, unfortunately, the same qualities that make him a phenomenal bench coach make him ill-equipped to manage over the long haul, in my opinion.

I think that Torey is an excellent communicator, both with the fans and, probably, with the players.
Unlike Igor with the Suns, Torey shows leadership ability.

As far as his baseball strategy, it shows that he came from the American League. I don't like
his constant lineup changes any more than I did with Bob Brenly, Bob Melvin or Kirk Gibson.
135 different batting orders every season. Hardly ever play your best lineup together.

Unfortunately, the whole National League is devoid of strategy now. Which is why I
finally gave in and support going to the universal Designated Hitter. National League
teams are caught in the Twilight Zone. Do-do-do-do, Do-do-do-do.

And, you're right about not second guessing the Manager every time we lose. Even
if we preferred different strategy. The job consists of the whole package. Overall,
Torey's results have been admirable. But I do feel strongly, as does 1Sun, that
Butcher has shown horrible results and needs to go. He has butchered his job.
