Not sure why all the hate for Darnell, sure he missed some tackles, but he was in the backfield and disrupting all game.

Whiz mentioned this during the post-game interview on the radio -- there were a few plays the broke down and Wilson bolted and Dockett (and sometimes others) maintained his correct position and stopped him for a 1-2 yard gain when otherwise it could have broken into a big play. I'll bet if you watch the whole game a la the coaches you'll find Dockett was in the right spot a lot more often than not. And, as others have noted, Wilson and Lynch aren't exactly trying to get tackled out there.

Word - Roberts played well, as did Heap, and Doucet made some good plays early (including going up to get one that could have got him killed). Larry has held in pretty good check, so glad to see some other guys step up a bit. Not surprised Floyd was a non-factor, but would be nice to see him get going eventually.

Game Ball - Olines pass blocking for the most part.
A bucket of Poop - Olines run blocking was horrid absolutely zero push.

I would split the bucket of poop with Special Teams (mainly kick and punt coverage). They pretty much cost us 10 points.

Considering the Oline's pass blocking in this game and the run stopping ability of Seattle I will give the Oline a pass on run blocking. As for the pressure in the second half, that will happen to any Oline when the D starts sending extra guys. It's up to the QB to recognize the blitz and make adjustments at the line/ get the ball out quicker. Otherwise how many times in this game would you say a Cards QB had a defender on top of him as soon as he finished his drop?

How about Leach hustling back and getting Washington on the punt return? Admittedly way downfield but they only got a FG on that drive.

per team

O: Kolb (perfect drive ended with TD though I felt bad on his first over throw to Fitz, but he adjusted well and did not panic)

D: Adams (despite the size, he broke TD passes at end of game to secure the win)

ST: NONE (we gave them good positions on returns)

Seattle has a very solid run defense. Plus they were stacking the line against the run, 8-9 players times up in the box. So I'm willing to give the OL a pass considering how much better than expected they played.

Some of our lesser receivers made some big catches. Especially that one into the end zone for a TD. Fitz made some typical Fitz catches and went berserk near the end of the game. He was really pumped. Our DBs made some errors but in the end when it really counted stood tall. We really have a good corps of defenders in the back. They are also on the mean side as are our defensive line and line backers. We were ready to fight someone on the first play. Our defensive coach has these guys ready to fight on every play. They will get burned with some of the QBs in this league like Manning but a lot of QBs are going to pay the price as they seem relentless. They picked up where they left off last year.

Kolb had nothing to do with the win today. It was the Defense and return teams that did everything.

:p

I thought the defense was great but to say Kolb had nothing to do with it defies the reality of the perfect drive he made to win the game. He stood in the pocket which he has not done in the past and made perfect throws (6 of 7 I think) to drive us down for the winning TD. All this while coming off the bench cold and having very few snaps during the week. Best drive I have ever seen Kolb make. He looked like a guy who had found his heart and suddenly had his team behind him. I am no Kolb fan but he sure got my attention on that drive. If he can repeat that type of play next week our chances are very much improved. Now we need to find our running game. I thought our game plan for runs was horrible. Play after play up the middle which went no where. When something does not work you usually get the message. How about a pass on first down once in a while. This might just help your QB have a little more time. We were very predictable so much so that we had not even made a first down in the second half when Skelton was injured.

I am not very impressed with our offensive schemes we used in the game. On the Kolb drive we all knew it was going to have to be pass pass and pass. The OL responded and the passes were on the mark and the receivers made the catches. That was not an offensive plan but was a was given and what had to happen. We are innovative on defense but seem to have nothing new to offer on offense.

The coach for Washington had the perfect game plan for RGIII which allowed him to complete 4 or 5 short passes real easy and gradually let him go longer. I give as much credit to the coach as RGIII on his great start in the NFL. He sure looks like a QB of the future. Washington may be headed deep into the playoffs but then again this was one game against a weak defense.

Yep. I don't remember a game under Horton's system where Dockett spent more time in the backfield. Sure he missed a few tackles, but all in all, one of his best games.

Defense:

Sam Acho: He was PWNING Okung all game long and really had him rattled with his speed and hit him with a couple of really nice bull-rushes.

Washington: Dude is all over the place (eff Dansby).

Lenon: He just brings it.

Dockett: seemed like he was always in the backfield.

Offense:

Kolb: Not a fan at all of the guy, but he came through when called upon. (BTW, when he comes into a game after Skelton is in, he looks like an imp.)

My vote would be for the D-line for keeping the blockers off our line-backing corps for the most part, which enable them to make plays.
