Assuming he's gone, who's the 4th DE behind Berry, Okeafor, and Smith? I know Pace can fill in if necessary, but I would think the team would keep a 4th, plus at least 5 DTs (Clancy, Dockett, Watson, Moore, Lewis, or Bulman).

I haven't heard anything about Lewis so maybe he's headed to the practice squad.

It seems every year there are surgeries needed just before or during training camp. If the injuries arent new why arent these things addressed right after the season ends instead of right before it begins.

With as well as Langston Moore is apparently playing, King may have not made the squad anyways. King would be primarily a backup DT.

I actually thought he would provide some needed depth at LDE. I love Berry Okeafor and King, but beyond that we have some needs.

How can you love King when he hasn't plaid a down since 2003??

Let's all face reality. King is finished. He has missed two seasons and best case will be out for half of this season. Why spend any money on him? Put someone in his place that wants to play. He will never be a NFL player.
I feel bad for the guy, but we need to move on. What was he, a 4th or 5th rounder. SO WHAT! If he were a 1st or 2nd round bust, I'd be upset. But this was a guy who had some potential, but he certainly wasn't a bonafide NFL D-lineman. Pay him a settlement & send him on his way.

To bad for KK, he was a great player at Bama! Could be above average player here. But, you're out of here. Probably All-Pro elsewhere ala KVB!!!

The same way KVB was "finished." Remember?

Reality is that he broke his wrist, had complications, broke his hand (possibly because of the work done to repair his wrist) and is now trying to do all at once the things necessary to finally get back and compete.

Not giving up on Kenny is a low risk proposition. If he's finished, we we'll be giving up icing on the D-line cake. If he's not, he could still turn out to be an extremely important contributor to our defense.

Why is this ? King has had a full year to fix this issue with the plate and nothing. It seems this has been the same in the past as well. Why do these players wait until training camp to have surgery.
