Sorry if this has been posted but he signed with the Lions. I still think he's going to make a terrific KR.

But for the Lions...

Btw, wasn't Garvin placed on the injured list? So he had to be cleared as healthy or given a settlement, corrrect?

4.2 guys aren't your run-of-the-mill camp fodder. He could've been a great returner if their wasn't a guy with the initials of LSH.
True Dat! Isnt kind of funny that Whis and the Steelers basically both found a LSH this season?

Link? He isn't listed on Detroit's roster.

If the Lions claimed Figurs, what do they need with Garvin? I thought Garvin was IR'd. No settlement, nothin, just IR'd.

There have been many many blazers in the NFL who are nothing but camp fodder. Just very fast camp fodder. Game speed is completely different. He had 1 TD in college with that blazin speed. He was overratted by people on this board because of his apparent speed and physique and nothing more.

Neither Garvin nor Togafau are listed on Detroit's website, on either the active roster or practice squad.

Not that it matters. I can't believe we have spent so much time discussing the fate of MRG. Must be a slow news day.

Garvin is still a Cardinal. I don't know where those Detroit reports came from.

Garvin still around
Lost among all the cuts of the past week and the various roster moves is the fact kick returner Michael Ray Garvin, who is recovering from knee surgery, remains on the team. Garvin was waived/injured in the first round of cuts after the third preseason game, giving other teams a chance to claim him. No one did, so the Cardinals -- rather than do an injury settlement, at least at this point -- moved him to injured reserve, where he is now along with linebacker Cody Brown (wrist) and fullback Justin Green (knee). Does Garvin last the season there? There's always a chance he doesn't and that the team will come to some kind of settlement with him. But for now, he is still Cardinals' property.

Pay him.Its not like he needs to get into shape.I'm still one of the ones that think he can be at least a Ron Brown type and get you a couple free touchdowns a year.At least.I wonder how long the Howler will remain healthy also. Its a tough job returning kickoffs.Hope the Howler does it all season into the playoffs.

Glad we cornered the market on these guys.lol I also live very near to FSU and love it everytime we add another player to the Arizona squad. They been berry berry good to us so far.:D

LOL. You must be as old as me. Ron Brown is the first name I thought of when comparing him to Garvin. I still remember the time when Brown returned two kickoffs for TD's in the same game.

I am old and he reminded me of the same thing.Short and straight line speed.I'll take a free touchdown anyday. It takes the wind out of the other team and sometimes they never recover from it.

I really think the Howler can do it too,but with more moves than just pure speed. The refs will probably call it back for a block in the back as they all hate the Cardinals. Its in thier handbook.:D

Just out of curiosity what gives you the feeling this guy will turn into someone who will give us a couple of TD's a year. The most he could conjure up in college was 1 TD in four seasons against inferior competition.

Good Kr personnel are of two types. The ones that have vision and burst that get you the occasional TD. The others are like Witherspoon and Garvin. They use their burners to consistently let their teams start beyond the 30. For Witherspoon this is a waste because of Garrard, but with Warner, it's invaluable.

Garvin did nothing to impress me. Sure the guy is built like a greek god. Too bad football has nothing to do with the Olympics.
