Lost in all of this is the inane FSU to the Gator Bowl sham. It is the Bobby Bowden charity ball. The Gator Bowl is at the top of the non BCS bowl lineup and they select FSU, because BB got his walking papers. FSU is 6-6 on the season. Lost their very good starting QB, and has already handed walking papers to 4 of BB's assistants.

The place will be packed with War Chanters and it will be a cinematic flashback extravaganza to BB, instead of a football game.

Bobby will stand on the sidelines, like a mummy, and Jimbo Fisher, who has been running this team , the last 2 years, will try to stay respectable against West Virginia. BTW, WV was where BB got his first big gig. Ain't that so Hollywood?

BTW, the logical choice was Clemson. 6-2 in the ACC. Division champs of the ACC. Nationally ranked. C.J. Spiller is worth the price of admission all by himself. Instead, it is the hapless 6-6 Semiholes of FSU.

I actually agree with you but if FSU is going to be classless about sending BB out the way they have, at least the Gator Bowl is a vehicle to send him out properly.

Of course it will be short lived after WVU puts a hurt on them 34-10 :D

I don't see anything classless about FSU and BB retiring. Lost in all of this is the forfeiture his teams deserved for the academic cheating. The school carried him and covered for him. He hasn't coached for 5 years. The Gator Bowl did it for the money. They sold out in 3 hours.
