This was kind of along the lines of my point.

If someone wants him for more than an expiring contract, not starting him will make him fuss and cry and that brings down his value.

Carter's entire value right now is an expiring (with the buyout). Once the buyout happens, other teams might take a look for the vet min or maybe a little more. But Carter is developing a "who cares" reputation so quickly, that very few teams will want to touch him.

Dudley is better coming off bench. He enjoys bringing that energy to the crowd. If he starts, we'll have nobody bringing that 6th man energy. I remember Ginobli used to come off bench too because he brings a lot of energy.

It's sad that the only reason Lopez starts is because of his "pride" issue and probably Vince starts because he still thinks he is a super star... much like Iversion who refused to come off bench.
