George Karl

I just now heard about Karl showing up in, uh, "street" clothes for a game several days ago. Somehow I missed all of the initial reports. I gather a lot of people are pretty up in arms about it.

What's the big deal? I wish I'd seen it; it sounds hilarious. No one used to get on Doug Moe (or was it Frank Layden?) for his outrageous ties.

He wore a throwback Nuggets jersey and sweatpants, I believe. I read that his players got a good laugh at it, and some of the “talking heads” on ESPN didn’t seem to mind.

But, he’s going to get fined.

I was trying to find a picture of this.......apparently it was throwback night for the Nuggets so Karl wore a throwback jersey and sweatpants.

I think it's great! Why should he be fined for that? It seems consistent with the whole "I love this game" spirit.

I however being a middle aged man have come to the realization that not everybody looks good in sports gear.

Anybody remember Tommy Lasorda in a baseball uniform? :shivers:

Aren't you glad that we don't have to see Jeff Van Gundy don a Rockets uni?

Or Stan Van Gundy? I bet that guys back hair makes Neil Walk look civilized. :bigshivers:

I would have respected him more if he didn't wear the long sleeve sweatshirt and didn't tuck in the jersey into his slacks.

Now all we need to do is get D'Antoni to coach wearing his old Italian uniform...
