As reported by Len P on ESPN for a 4th rounder!
vince56 said:Physically, yes, maybe, but Warren doesn't have the mind of someone like Bert Berry, and that will always keep him down. IIRC, wasn't Warren the guy that showed up for his pre-draft interview at the Cards facility with a cell phone on each ear, asking where the best clubs are in town?
You got a point, but with as many d-line problems Denver might potentially have with losing possibly both Pryce and Heyward, giving up only a 4th rounder isn't a bad deal for someone with Warren's talent. There's no debating the guy is a moron though.vince56 said:Physically, yes, maybe, but Warren doesn't have the mind of someone like Bert Berry, and that will always keep him down. DevonCardsFan said:I agree, not a bad move for Denver, Both teams got a good deal out of it.
Rolling Thunder said:Yeah, because Denver is going to find someone with Warren's talent level in the late 4th in this crap draft.
Skkorpion said:This deal is idiocy by Denver. They could have had Warren for nothing by being patient. Warren is a colossal bust but Shanahan keeps thinking he can coach up maggots.
Russ Smith said:isn't the entire Green philosophy on free agents and trades that you get someone else's problem when they're looking to be resurrected?
This is the same philosophy as us trading for Zellner and Hambrick when everyone knew the Raiders were waiving them. Denver wanted to get Warren without competing with other teams. The reports are Warren is redoing his contract so they're not paying him the huge money Cleveland did.
Seems like a low risk potentially high reward. if he's still an idiot, they lost a 4th rounder.
vince56 said:BTW, what the heck is Denver doing?? First they let go of Berry last year, now Pryce and Hayward this year??
That's pushing 40 sacks/year they're giving up in just two offseasons.
It's lunacy. Having said that, though, I think the cards should go hard after one of those guys and put them on the other end. That'd be devastating for any opposing QB.
Russ Smith said:Pryce, as Rolling Thunder has posted before he was the one guy who wasn't willing to restructure, he was limiting their options, so they decided to trade him. My guess is he wanted out and knew if he wouldn't restructure, he'd get traded. not sure why, but that's my only take on why he'd refuse to restructure knowing full well if he's traded he's going to HAVE to restructure anyways.
