Not what you think Whiz will do, what YOU would plut on the field.
Please push the envelope. Play of 3-4 or 4-3. I-formation or spread.
Just make sure to justify your lineup..... and yes, "Because I said so" is justification enough.
Go at it.
QB: Max Hall
There is really no other choice. At this point, winning the NFC West is a moot point, IMO. We are kidding ourselves if we think we can show up in the playoffs, and our QB's are flip flopping. DA is not the answer and should be the backup for the rest of the year. If Hall fails, as he did last Sunday , then put in Skelton. Unpolished or not, this year is for the future not, the current.
Hall is the guy to play against the Bucs since Skelton is not anywhere near ready. If Hall can be average, then that is all we need.
HB: Thunder -Chris Wells, Lightining - LSH, Passing - Tim Hightower
Tim Hightower has to be done. Enough is enough. I love his running style but it goes like this. He ran for 10ypc last game, which means jack-squat when you fumble at the end of it. If you run for 60 yards during a drive, and fumble on the 10 then throw that 60 yards gains out the window. The stats looked great but his production was ZERO!
Put in Wells, and see what you got there. At least Wells is still young, still growing, still maturing. Wells' potential is scary, but potential needs to be production at some point. Put in LSH for a change of pace back (he has earned it IMO), and you have what you need for a Whiz/Gibbs/Cowher system to thrive in the running game.
Try Hightower at fullback, and put him in for shotgun formations.
FB: Reagen Maui'a
The guy has been solid. Not good or great but solid. I have to give him this, when he gets all of his blocks they are devestating.
TE: Ben Patrick
Tight ends in AZ are the offensive equivalent to the pass rush in AZ. We just never have a good one. Patrick is servicable, but his blocking is putrid. Spack is no better, and Dray has a ways to go. Absolutely disgusting TE core this year.
WR: Larry Fitzgerald & Steve Breaston
With Hall in, we must run more, and have more 2 WR sets and heavy backfield. We have the biggest OL you could wish for, and it is unfortunate they are horrible blockers, but I see less in pass protection from the O-Line. Breaston and Fitzgerald have enough skill to get the job done. Fitzgerald..... I don't know but I am running out of excuses. He has to start making Fitzgerald type plays or he is just an overpaid WR. If Breaston comes back from injury on the pace he was before it, then our BEST WR would be coming back this week.
RT: Brandon Keith, Rex Hadnot, Lyle Sendlien, Duece Lutui, Levi Brown
I stay with Keith because of the movement for the future, and by that logic I sit Faneca and start Hadnot, because I think this is Faneca's final year anyway. Sendlein is horrible but he is all we got. Loved watching the segment with Brian Billick showing the world how Sendlien is just giving the other team the exact moment the ball is being snapped. Keith is not the greatest RT by a long shot, but Sendlien is not helping ANYONE. Lutui has played great this year, I will admit it. Levi Brown has settled into his LT spot, and has been solid, IMO.
DL: Alan Branch, Dan Williams (if he can go), Darnell Dockett
Patience. Alan Branch must start. No two ways about it. Dan Williams must start, and if he collapses on the field so be it. You are not getting in better shape sitting on the sidelines, and you are not gaining experience there either. Dockett is fine. Playing as well as he can, and Branch's success will free Dockett up.
OLB: Calias Campbell, Joey Porter.
Its my team and I will do what I want. Again, looking toward the future, you put Campbell on the outside. He is quicker and faster than Haggans, Porter, or Davis. So, explain to me why we don't put the guy on the edge, caue he has to learn coverages ? LOL, so does Porter and Haggans, IMO. The Cardinals are so woefully thin and hopeless at OLB, that something drastic needs to be done. No current OLB'ers with any skill, NOTHING on the horizon at the position either.
ILB: Daryl Washington, Gerald Hayes
Tip of the hat to Paris Lenon, who has played beyond his potential. But, Hayes is better if healthy. Washington is playing really well for an inexperienced, under-sized rookie. Keep him out there, he will only get better.
CB: DRC, Greg Toler
Both are playing very well. DRC is still maturing but he is playing well, IMO. Toler has been the only player that I feel is reaching the expectations we needed from him this year. After that, we are screwed. Michael Adams is horrible, McBride is just as bad, and the rest are too young.
S: Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes
Again, both are playing well, IMO. Ware has regressed from last year, IMO. I get the feeling Ware is pouting about not getting signed to a long term contract some where. With his current play, he will by lucky to have a job next year. The really, really scary situation here is, who is our SS when Wilson starts to show his age in a year or so ?
K: Jay Feeley
Doing fine, and is an upgrade from Rackers
P: Ben Graham
Still an offensive weapon. He 7 yard punt was hard to stomach but I will let it slide since he is playing great otherwise.
KR: LSH
....
PR: Steve Breaston
STRIKE THREE YOU"RRRRRRRRE OUT! Andre Roberts just ran out of chances. If I was on this team I would want to ring his neck at this point. Horrible, one of the most embarrassing players in the NFL right now. He is a follies highlight reel each week. Breaston is the only guy to put back there, and at this point if he fair catches the ball every time I am fine with it.
Final move ? Declare Miller the offensive coordinator. Tell Grimm to concentrate on his offensive line, and only the offensive line cause it needs his attention. Let Whiz coach the team, and stop worrying about play calling.
The team needs discipline and guidance, not some overly complicated offensive game plan, when the team can complete a simple 5 yard out, or simple run between the tackles.
