It doesn't take a roster to spot the very best players.
Within minutes of watching any Gloucester Catholic girls basketball game this season, any spectator's eyes were inevitably drawn to No. 5. There was never mistaking the impact of junior Jahzara Green on the game or her teammates.
Green played at her very best in the flow of the offense combining the strength and power of an impact post player with the ball-handling and explosiveness of a perimeter threat. A mismatch nightmare for opposing defenses, Green is virtually impossible to guard 1-on-1.
Those abilities made Green impossible to ignore. It also made the Gloucester Catholic junior the 2024-25 Courier-Post South Jersey Girls Basketball Player of the Year.

Green practically manifested that honor, without realizing it.
"I expected us to win a lot more than we did last year," Green said. "I just expected a different toughness from the team."
Green averaged an even 18.0 points per game, scoring a career-best 540 points to raise her three-year career total to 1,419 points.

Green led the Rams to the Tri-County Conference Classic Division title, the South Jersey Non-Public B championship, the Tri-County Conference Tournament title and berths in the championship games of the South Jersey Invitational and NJSIAA Non-Public B state championship game.
"I expected us to win a lot more than we did last year," Green said. "I expected a different toughness from the team. I think that returning our point guard, Amanda (Eggers) gave us more confidence. I'm glad we went as far as we did. I just wish we won the last game."
Gloucester Catholic lost to Montclair Immaculate in the state championship game. That result only strengthened the team's resolve.
"The way we got all the way to last game and fell short, was tough," Green said. "I think everybody on our team is just ready for the next run. Next year should be better. Hopefully, we can win a state championship."
