I've never been a big Malone hater, but I admit that my opinion of him has suffered during these playoffs. He hasn't seemed like a very good sport, and he's playing terribly. Before getting hurt in the regular season, he was very effective, but now it looks like he really will be riding the Kobe/Shaq cottails rather than making a meaningful contribution.
As Dan Majerle said, Karl likes to pick on the little guys--with the big guys, he waits until they jump, then slides under their feet. It will be annoying to see him win the title this year.
I loved his play in the clutch tonight, though. Let's see:
--passed up open jumpers down the stretch
--when he was forced to shoot one with the clock running down, he airballed it
--jumped up to pass after an O-rebound fell into his lap, then came down and travelled after Devean George bumped him
--picked up a cheap flagrant-2 after the outcome was decided.
That knee to Hoiberg was all class, as well...
