I hope that Trade Talk doesn't jinx it....

It should be an easy game either at home or away.

And don't jinx it by assuming it is an easy game.....

I'll be at the game tonight (3rd of the year for me) down in the platinum club area. My girlfriend won tickets by answering a question during the Suns Countdown Pregame show. I gave her the answer of course, but we both entered and her name was picked. Suns should win this game and they've done a good job of beating the teams that they should beat so far this year. I'll say the Suns win 115-93.

Man, Warriors was very competitive until 4th quarter. The 4th quarter must be really exciting!!

Nash had 6 turnovers but he shot very well. 3/5 from 3pt line and scored 26 with 11 assist. :)

Amare was terrific too!

Oh wait!!

4 players scored over 20????? Holy cow!!!!!!!!!!! I just realized that. Man!! What a powerhouse.

JJ 20
Marion 23
Nash 26
Amare 33

Can any team have this kind of record? Is this some sorts of NBA record? 4 players in the same game scored 20+??

This was a fun game to be at. For the 1st 3 qtrs it seemed like the Warriors couldn't miss a shot. The Suns were really sloppy for the 1st 5 minutes of the game, but kept it close. The fans just kept waiting for a big run by the Suns and it finally came in the 4th qtr and the place went nuts. I think I heard they went on a 21-0 run in the 4th. Having 4 players over 20pts is great. Shawn didn't even have a basket until 7 minutes left in the 3rd qtr and he finished with 23pts.

I thought this was a valuable game, keeping in the mode of a young team with lots to learn. They need to know they CAN (and must) turn it on at any point, that it's not over till the 27th out. (oops. wrong sports cliche. :D ) It would have been easy for Suns of the past to fax it in after dragging for the first half. I think part of learning to win is discovering pure persistence, and finding another gear - and they did those things tonight.

Damn, they're fun to watch!

well put. i really think this team is learning how to win night in and night out. that type of culture hasn't been here in a fair while and right now it seems like that professional outlook is something nash is permeating through the team. i think that's a big problem with most teams, where before the game you wonder which team is going to show up, but a select few players won't let their team lose during nights of lackadaisical effort. nash is one of them.

Awesome! Totally agree with ya. I am really happy that Suns came back tonight just like the way they came back to beat Lakers in the end. Great teams can always come back in the 4th quarter while weaker teams tend to lose 2nd half of the game especially in the 4th quarter. That 21-0 run is AMAZING. If I were a Warriors fan, I would probably jump off the cliff. LOL

This just proves that Nash is really the all-star on the team. He may have bad shooting night but his effort and team leadership will persist in any kind of situation. As long as the teammates believe in him, they will succeed. I am glad both Nash and Marion fired up towards the end. This is what a great team does.

I know it's just a Warriors game but a W is a W. :) And I have a strong faith that Suns will beat Lakers tomorrow.

No Worries

The Warriors have been playing better as of late and their stats did not reflect this improvement. Realistically, the Warriors shooters were really hot and hit a lot of shots even when reasonably well defensed. They forced some turnovers and made some fast break points.

However, the Warriors never could stop the Suns from scoring. As long as the Suns didn't screw around with the ball or take too early shots, the Suns could score and the Warriors couldn't stop them. So when the Warriors tired in the fourth quarter and stopped hitting their jump shots, the Suns just overwhelmed them.

It was an excessively demanding game in that all four starters put in very long minutes. Hunter had the most minutes of anyone off the bench and he only played 14 minutes. I hope they are not too worn down to take on the Lakers on Wed. I want that one a lot.

Realistically, in the first half at least, the Golden State shooters were making wide-open shots and layups. The Phoenix Suns defense was nonexistent until the second half. Hunter's shot blocking helped a little, but the Warriors were still getting too many open shots from the perimeter. Speedy Claxton was giving Steve Nash and Barbosa fits with his quickness. He did a fantastic job of getting by his men, soaking in the defense, and finding the wide-open shooters. I mention it's difficult for any point guard, regardless of their defensive prowess, to keep Claxton from penetrating because he is so darn "Speedy".

Fortunately the Suns played with a little more energy on defense in the second half. it helped that this was Golden State's fourth game in five nights, so they tired by the fourth quarter. The shots they were getting were not quite as open and easy, and the Warriors stopped making them consistently as they wore out.

This Phoenix Suns team might not have a great record against teams with winning records (4-3), but they are definitely taking care of the losing teams (11-0). And I think it's very encouraging that they haven't been beaten soundly by anyone. All three of their losses were close games. I can't wait to see how well this team is playing when they are completely familiar with each other, so they and the coaches have all of the wrinkles ironed out.

I just kept saying they are going to run out of gas and we will pull away. and as the 3rd quarter disappeared i was starting to get a little nervous. but then it happened. the first quarter was what really put us in a hole. they were shooting so well. but we finished strong and put them away. anyone have any idea why we had our starters in the last 2 min? it would be good to pull nash and amare.
