Oh and Carson Kelley is out performing Yadier Molina through the first half of the season
We saw this with Goldy ourselves. Horrible months, then he gets hot and is the player of the month in another month.xc_hide_links_from_guests_guests_error_hide_media
Ah, a blast from my past.Did Goldy get his eyes checked yet?

Yeah, he seemed to be striking out more the last few years. Some were questioning his vision.Highest K% since his rookie year. Hazen saw it.
I've been posting that for a number of years. It would be astonishing ifYeah, he seemed to be striking out more the last few years. Some were questioning his vision.
I've been posting that for a number of years. It would be astonishing if
management did not insist that Goldy have a full exam, especially with
the eye clinic that was one of the D-backs sponsors.
I cited an example of Carl Furillo with the old Brooklyn Dodgers. He hit
in the .290's every year for a long time, then fell to .247 in 1952.
They removed dust particles from his eyes and he hit .344 to win the
National League batting championship. The average of his .247 and
.344 back-to-back seasons? .296. How ironic!
A batter following the ball from the pitcher's hand and being off from
a quarter to a half inch in his swing is the difference between a long
drive and a pop fly. And an increase in strikeouts.
Every day I hoped to hear that Goldy had gone for an full eye exam,
but we never heard. And Goldy 's hitting skills diminished.
I suggested more than a "normal" checkup. With an opthamologist, not an optometrist.I would assume all players would get eye exams these days as part of normal team procedures given the money involved with these players. Heck, I get my eyes checked each year.
You would think if Goldy himself felt his eyes were off he would be proactively getting his eyes checked.
He is heating up.
4 home runs in the past 4 games.
Bound to happen... it's what he does. He'll be at 30+ HR's, 85+ RBI and .270+ batting average by the end of the season...
God bless the St.Louis Cardinals.lolAll for $26 million a year!

Yep... Gotta give Hazen a TON of credit on this deal... If Weaver can come back and be successful, this deal will be one of the most lopsided deals in favor of the Dbacks, in team history.
