So... This guy is pretty awful. Was less than nothing at RB, and I didn't miss him on kick returns, either.

Great story when we drafted him, a couple of good kick returns in an otherwise dreadful season, but don't pay this guy a penny more than the veteran minimum.

It's hard to evaluate individual players in isolation.

The surrounding cast of characters provide the context.

LSH needs holes to zip through and enough space in the backfield to avoid being blown up by penetrating defenders as he tries to get outside.

Both WiPo and Fonze are better suited for creating their own holes. WiPo is better at making the first man miss - an imperative, considering the ineptness of our OL as run blockers - a better fit for our current lineup.

I think Powell is a better fit in any offense than LSH. But I think LSH is a lot more valuable on STs than he gets credit for

Doing what? What is his role on Special Teams other than catching kick offs 8-10 yards deep in the endzone?

I don't think he's been a gunner in quite a while. Unfortunately my game rewind is on the fritz and won't load any games prior to this weekend so I can't check.

I know LSH wasn't a gunner vs the Bills but that could have been because he was starting at RB. But I don't remember seeing him on punt coverage before either.

I don't believe he was on STs at all vs BUF

He hasn't been a gunner(recently) or very effective as a kick returner this season....that is due in part due his expanded role in the offense. Perfect example of the "Peter Principle" in my opinion. Excellent role player who was forced to due a job that he wasn't qualified to do.

he's also been banged up all season and Miller continues to send the little fella up the middle in I-formation and other insane coaching decisions like that

It drives me nuts to see LSH used up the gut and on the next play watch Beanie on an outside run play!

The Cardinals have completely failed in using LSH correctly. If he was used as a scat back much like Sproles, he could be a dangerous weapon.

The Cards NEVER throw the screen pass and with the penetration the defense is getting on the line a screen to LSH could be huge.

He is not a between the tackles runner and I cant believe they'd even try. A few dump offs to him would loosen the defense and force them back a little. If used correctly, LSH and Powell could do some damage.

He dropped the screen pass in OT. He isn't a fraction of the player Sproles is.

But do they really know? I've got Sproles on my fantasy team and I have watched every game he's played this year and most of last year. In that time I have seen him drop a dozen passes. You dont know what you have until you used in that role.

It drives me nuts that we talk so much trash on guys we used to love. Hyphen is not only just coming back from a hip injury and being forced into a role he was never suited for. Sure he dropped a screen pass in OT, but to be honest, there was plenty of congestion on that play and the throw wasn't perfect either.

His KR touchdowns (before rule changes neutered his significance)..... The OT winner against Dallas..... His awesome gunner play..... And don't forget the passion of his draft conference call. This is not the guy you should gang up on.

Obviously we shouldn't overpay him, but it would be sad to see him go after all he has given us. Just like Timmy, I will thank him for his contributions, and hope we can find a way to keep him reasonably.

LSH is not in the same stratosphere as Sproles. Just because they are small, 3rd down type receivers doesn't make them comparable players. I agree that LSH's only value would be being used they way Sproles is but, he still is not really a factor in that role either, which renders him relatively useless.

He was never supposed to be a RB. When they moved the kickoffs up 5 yards, it took away his value as a returner. Knocking his returning is a bit silly. The dude got 3 TDs his first 2 seasons and averaged 25 yards per return.

But now with most kickoffs going deep in the end zone, kickoff returner is probably the least important position in the league.

When the NFL moved the kickoff field position LSH was on borrowed time. he's injured too often to be anything more than a kick returner and kick returns are going out of fashion fast.

LSH may have some value if he was used in a similar role as Sproles is used, however this team doesn't use him in that fashion so it really makes him pretty useless. If the OC doesn't play to LSH's strengths they why even have him on the team taking up a roster spot?

You could very well see LSH go to another team and contribute more than he does here if that team used him correctly. It all goes back to gross incompetence on the part of the offensive coaching staff.

Got to give the kid credit. I thought he played really well against the Vikings. The little guy just never gave up.

Yup. He was WAY better than I expected on Sunday (and WiPo starting on my dynasty team paid the price). I still don't believe that he should get much more than the veteran minimum, but the little critter stepped to the plate in a big way.

LSH isn't meant to be a starting back.. Just isn't his role.. He is a 3rd down back.. Expecting more is foolish.. He did have a nice game though against the Vikings..
