Well, what a game. I had predicted we would lose by 24 points. Another game we let get away. Yet, I remain Stoic in my optimism. LEINART is the real deal. Lomax was the last and Leinart will be better. I am not throwing this year away but I am thinking about how good this team should be for the next four to five years. I loved the defensive performance. Great hitting and excellent tackling. I still think the O-line needs revamped. We are stuck with Ross(Matt's blind-side protection) and Wells. Lutui hopefully will be good. A new Center and replace BIG with a true LT. This team should remind us of the 49ers of the late eighties and nineties. As for me, 28 years a fan and not stopping now.

- Dockett was a stud
- E. Green was a stud
- Hayes was a stud
- Boldin was a stud
- As I said last week, Berry is getting closer to being back

I completly agree with your look into the crystal ball. Matt is a stud and barring injury will be a very good leader on the field. You could see a lot iof that yesterday. I know we lost in another backbreaking way but, the defense against the Bears was mostly awesome. 3 points thats all the Bears got from our D. The offensive line is still very offensive, but this was thier first week together. I am very upset with our unspecial team. The future looks brighter today. My wish is that one season our future would be here now.

Thanks, LittleDavis, for a dose of optimism. I woke up at 3 this morning, not nearly so upbeat; still ticked that the Cards collapsed at the end of another game.

If this were a 1940's movie, you'd think the team was in the mob's pocket -- fumbling and stumbling and giving away games at the last moment.

And, yes, some of the Cards played their hearts out. No Fitz and yet Boldin was amazing. I wasn't impressed with Leinart at So Cal...I thought Bush and White were his saviors there. Guess I was wrong. I'm very impressed with Leinart in AZ. VERY happy we drafted him.

I'm much less impressed with our big ticket buy of the off-season. Everybody keeps waiting for James to play like James -- and everybody keeps blaming the line when he doesn't. You'd think a superstar would have displayed SOME flash of talent despite his line. Or are his legs tired from carrying that heavy wallet that nestles in his back pocket and he just can't get up for game day anymore?

With James, I'll be patient. He is being stacked at the line. He is use to the stretch play. We have to find a way to get him slowed down. He seems to put his head down one yard behind the line of scrimmage. He needs to use his vision and it can't happen when your O-line is being pushed backwards and unable to pick up blitzes. This is the most glaring negative part of this team. Worst running game in the NFL. Think about this. Thomas Jones, J.J. Arrington and now Edge. All vision runners and we try to play smashmouth. Not gonna work in today's NFL.
