My daughter is excited. We watched the preview and she is super excited to see the film. She read all the books when she was a bit younger but said she can't wait. Hopefully, it's not a complete disaster.

Plot Summary: In the "Goosebumps" movie, upset about moving from a big city to a small town, teenager Zach Cooper (Dylan Minnette) finds a silver lining when he meets the beautiful girl, Hannah (Odeya Rush), living right next door. But every silver lining has a cloud, and Zach's comes when he learns that Hannah has a mysterious dad who is revealed to be R. L. Stine (Jack Black), the author of the bestselling Goosebumps series. It turns out that there is a reason why Stine is so strange… he is a prisoner of his own imagination – the monsters that his books made famous are real, and Stine protects his readers by keeping them locked up in their books. When Zach unintentionally unleashes the monsters from their manuscripts and they begin to terrorize the town, it's suddenly up to Stine, Zach, and Hannah to get all of them back in the books where they belong in the new "Goosebumps" movie.

Me, my sister and my daughter have all read a few of these books so we're kinda looking forward to it, but the trailers look pretty weak so far. I'm not sure I'm going to be able to buy that accent Jack Black is trying to do, but I will give it a go. We will definitely see this one as a group for nostalgia sake.

I thought this was going to be just terrible but it was actually pretty entertaining for the most part. Some good actors here and actually a lot of humor in the beginning. And Jack Blacks accent, whatever the hell he is trying to do, wasn't as cringe worthy as it seemed in the previews. lol

It ofcourse got silly and overcooked in the second half, I actually went to sleep for a little while I admit, lol. But the kids both liked it. I try not to take these kids movies too seriously I think it's kindof silly to do a full on serious review of Goosebumps. It was good for what it was.

I'm not sure what I would score it... 6 out of 10 maybe. Its one of those; I'm not sure how much being a parent has skewed my movie tastes. lol Parents know, some of these we get dragged to are just TERRIBLE, and while this wasn't great, it wasn't terrible either.

Yeah, very silly. I kinda zoned out as well when it got so cartoonish. Definitely no Monster Squad.
