Ok this is a work machine, keeping my current machine for gaming.

But wanted to pass along that Dell offers Raid 1 and 0. Hardware raids.

Just got a sweet machine with a Raid 1. This is great for my work machine because it creates redundent data on 2 hard drives. So if something happened to one of them I have all my customers data on the other.

Was about to go with Raid 0 to help with gaming but since my business is growing much faster than anticipated I had to go with peace of mind.

Anywho just wanted to pass along that Dell offers it now.

Intel has been offering this on their desktop chipsets for a while now utilizing SATA drives. I have a machine I built myself 2 years ago that has RAID 0 and 1 via SATA drives on board. I have an ASUS p4p800 deluxe board, based on the Intel 865PE Chipset.

Dell just waited until they could buy a motherboard from Korea at 1/3 the price.

You're storing critical data on your personal machine instead of the company file server with offsite backup?!?

SWD... it would be a good idea to get a DVD burner or Tape drive and backup everything on a nightly or weekly bases. You will kill yourself if your drive fails and you cannot recover the data!

I know you have a RAID 1 but I have seen crap go wrong and the data becomes corrupt on the other drive.

Dell had 10,000 laptops available and sold out in 50 minutes!
