I also found the Packer fans to be pretty good sports, although I definitely hit a nerve when after a failed Rodgers shovel pass I yelled out "You ain't no Favre..."

I quickly discovered that is just about every Packers fans hot button. I even had some of them arguing with each other on that topic. Those guys are super passionate one way or the other on the whole Favre or Rodgers argument.

Not the ones here. I always say after a loss, it like the Packers whose that? Don't they play in Siberia? We are on shut down so I don't have to wear my work attire this week, so I am in full regalia. Authentic #99 Grizz Jersey and new cardinals hat. Not too many people got anything to say.

Perfectly understandable. I don't question anyone's travel habits. Or fan habits at all, frankly. Wife and I get one vacation a year, at best, we're not going to Wisconsin. Hell, we're not even going to a football game, and I'm a big football fan. I want to build memories with my wife, not football memories.

I remember the SB year, we had a chance to go to the Philly game or her favorite bed and breakfast in Cali. Wife left it up to me, and I still remember the night, watching the game on TV, then going out on our deck to watch the sunset and some wild turkey's in the wild doing whatever wild turkey's do. I'd never trade that memory for one second to be around a bunch of drunkards acting like fools, I don't care what game it is.

People are different, I don't care what anyone does with their tickets or where they go or why. I do have issue with telling someone how they should spend their money or what to do with tickets. People need to stay in their lanes and mind their biz.

LOL, I hear that!!! Better to be on that deck with a view of a sunset than being at the Linc with a view of all those clown eagle fans!

I know there were a lot of packers fans around me but there are a lot of broker owned seats around me. Plus I am on the visitors side. The home side was a wall of Red.

I'm just glad they spent money in our city. Paying to the go to the game, paying for the hotel, eating out, having fun. They spent a lot more money than all of you who live here.

Me and my girl went to the last Cards game in Green Bay. Sure, we lost, but we had a GREAT time, and the locals were VERY kind to us, everywhere we went. Would do it again in a heartbeat, and wouldn't matter if we lost the game. Thankfully my girl knows the area well (she went to school at Lawrence in Appleton) and handled all the logistics. We stayed at the same hotel as the Cardinals, in Appleton - a fair distance away, but the only place capable of hosting such a group anywhere close.

I cringe when I read some of the stories about locals giving the Packer fans a hard time. Why? Why not treat them the same way you'd want to be treated when visiting another team's stadium/city? They share a common passion, so we share a bond. Just because that passion is for a different team doesn't make them bad people deserving of ridicule or rude treatment.

First I would like to say that I am glad you enjoyed your experience. But on the flip side I've been to 21 different stadiums and I was treated worse in Green Bay then any other. Their fans are arrogant fools, asking me stupid questions like "are you on crack"? Another would chime in "he must be he's a cardinals fan". This was all being said in front of my son who was 10 at the time. Oh ya they are a class act all right.

Their fans are band wagon fans to the end. If they lose you would think they played in Siberia, and if they win they all show up on Monday wearing green and gold. A friend of mine (big Packer fan) and great fan of football tells me stories about the 80's where he could get tickets for $5.

The Packers fans were loud, but it wasn't even close to how loud the Cards fans were. I agree that the Packers as fans are as friendly as can be. This is the 1st game I have been to that I did not see a fight. I had some stupid Cardinals fan taunting 4 GB fans in front of me and they all just sat there and ignored him. I was kind of embarrassed because he was not making sense. Plus, it was only 17-0 at this point. I ended up talking to these 4 guys and they said "man, you guys are kicking our a*%!, and "no question, your team is the best team in the NFL and is your year." It cool to see even though they are getting crushed, they still have the decency to give credit, unlike Seahawk, 49ers and Cowboy fans do

Agreed. Nicest fans hands down. Every time we've played them. Pretty classy.

Best was when it showed the Seahaeks getting beat and EVERYONE cheered. The Packer fan near us we'd been chatting with was all "see, there's something we can agree on...mutual hate for those Seattle clowns."

I think they do it because they assume it'll dissuade them from coming back to UofPhx. Hasn't happened so far, lol.

Near me there was one drunk Cards fan that kept ragging on a Packer fan. Packer fan finally had enough and tried to jump over and get in his face, but cooler heads prevailed.

i do agree with this

however, i also know that there is a fair amount of scar tissue built up on Cardinal fans -- expecially those from the SDS days --- those Packer fans probably paid a price that was really earned by Bear, Cowboy and SF fans

All the locals I know who were Packer fans went out a bought tickets. These were the same guys I tailgated with in 2009 when the Packers came for the meaningless final game of the season before returning the following week for the Wildcard.

Same situation with Minnesota and Chicago. They have all moved here and still root for the team where they lived 30 years ago.

I have two neighbors who are Packer fans. They have a short drive home as you point out.

Well, I don't doubt that all that happened, and my experience was accurately described as well - just goes to prove, there are good fans and bad fans in all cities. Given the choice to be nice and respectful, or be a raving jackass, I'll always go with Door #1. If somebody is giving me a hard time in a visitor's city or stadium, I'll just smile and walk away.
