last time i checked, Griffin has never been in trouble with the law, his teammates loves him as does the city. the idea that he's not a "good guy" in this league doesn't make sense to me.

The clowning, the posturing, the staring down opponents and coaches and officials, the whining...on court stuff.

there's no way they clips are sending picks back with Gomes and they sure as hell aren't sending a first. why would they do that when they can just sign grant ourtight?

Because they want to sign other players as well. They are pursuing Milicic right now.

Why would we take Gomes if they can just sign Grant outright? That doesn't make sense either.

none of that makes him a bad guy IMO. Nash whined incessantly, Amare used to stare down opponents, so did Barkley... no one here gave a crap. It's not like he's dirty. he's not KG picking fights with guys half his size.

i just think to label Griffin a "bad guy" because he whines (like every other superstar in the league) and tries to intimidate people after dunks (which is part of his mental game) is a bit of stretch for me. That guy takes a freaking pounding and has never even fought back.

that's relative to the LA area(the criminal stuff - who cares lol). you're missing the point

actually I'm not. I just don't think doing what pretty much every NBA player does makes him a bad guy. Every superstar whines. Guys who can dunk on others clown all the time (no one here had a problem when Amare/Barkley used to do it)... he's not a cheap-shot artist(he's actually one of the guys who gets cheap-shotted more than anyone else in the league), and he plays as hard as he can with reckless disregard for his own body.

I think Griffin has a pretty good rep in this city. Now, I think he's terribly overrated as a player, but I don't think there's anything that says he's a bad teammate or ambassador for the Clippers.

At this point, they can only offer 1.9 million. If they do want Phoenix to take back Ryan Gomes in order to facilitate a sign and trade, they should have to cough up a first round draft pick (probably will be a low first round draft pick). I would love an extra first round pick in 2014, where the draft looks like it will be loaded with talent.

Exactly. The Suns would be doing Clippers and Hill a favor by facilitating a trade that allows Hill to make a little more money. They need compensation for that. Gomes is not compensation, he's just a contract Clippers can unload to make salaries work.

Nice! He went to the right LA team. I can safely wish him the best of luck in chasing the title and cheer for him.

Right. Gomes is not compensation. In fact, the Suns are doing the Clips more of a favor by taking Gomes. They are better off just letting Hill walk. So if the Clips want to compensate Hill more and we need to take back Gomes to do it, they are going to have to give us something.

Go Babby. Milk it. Do what's best for the team, not whats best for Grant Hill.

Not me. Do you really want to see the Clippers win an NBA title before us? They're the worst franchise in NBA history, and arguably in all of sports. They do not deserve a title, and especially not before we get one.

Bro, there are some things we're not in control of. One of those being the questionable decisions our front office makes.

I agree with the basis of your post. Ive said for years the Suns are the most successful franchise in all of professional sports to not have a title to its name.

But the Clippers have made a string of great moves to put themselves in position to win a championship. Hard not to appreciate this, especially of you root for the AZ Cardinals and watch the team go from ineptitude to respectful in a two year span.

We can continue to site history as a reason to cheer for the Clippers to fail. But instead, our FO should be taking notes.

And why do you think this is? Why do you think so many NBA players take shots at him?

because he posterizes people and like any high-flier, if you make him think twice about going into the lane, you've just taken away a huge part of his game. again, I'm not even saying he doesn't do stare-downs. but I don't think that in any way makes him a "bad guy".

Because they dont wanna end up on a highlight. Once again, hard to hold that against Blake.

His preening is obnoxious, but ALL guys who throw down big dunks do it.

I've heard he's got a Kevin Garnett kind of attitude during games, but that's all.

Like I said, I don't think he's as good as the media makes him out to be, but he's still dynamic and fun to watch--don't know why all the hate.

I watch a lot of Clipper games, and I haven't seen it. I have seen the stare-downs and whining though. But KG's a douche of a different level.

I agree with this too. I actually think his game regressed a little this year and I'm with ya on the haters. dude's fun to watch.

You're probably right, I just used KG because he's really the main superstar that players hate to play on the court with all the trash talking. At least that "superstar level" that Griffin is being groomed as by the NBA. And I meant not as in playing dirty, like KG is wont to do, but just those little extracurricular things you see on a playground more than on a parquet floor.

In a van...down by the river.
I dont mind guys that clown or pick fights....as long as they can back it up with solid play. Dennis Rodman is one my favorite players of all time(on the court).
Its the primadonnas and tissue soft players that i can't stand in this league. :)

BTW best of luck to Grant Hill....classy guy and he played hard.

Wow crazy. I thought the Lakers, but I guess the Clippers have at least for now turned things around, so why not?
