Meniscus tear sounds like this might be it for Grant Hill, not just this season.

I don't think so. They said 30 minute procedure. That leads me to believe he probably tore the outer edge of his Meniscus. There is good blood supply to that area and the prognosis is good for recovery. If he had torn the central portion where the blood supply is poor, prognosis and surgery gets more complicated. It doesn't sound like what they are describing though with a 30 minute procedure.

However, this could just be a PR announcement.

Either way, I don't see much point in him playing again for the Suns this season unless we somehow find a way into the playoffs.

I will one up you and say I don't see a reason at all. This team is going nowhere in the playoffs with or without Hill and Nash. They have zero chance at a title.

Too bad about Grant Hill. I'm not concerned about the Suns making the playoffs so I am more concerned about Grant Hill as a person and as a player. I hope he is as good as ever next season. A lot of these surgeries are clean out operations. I'm amazed how well Hill has played for the Suns especially on defense. He does not play like an older player.

Well more Redd, whoopie! There goes the year. Gentry cant get the rotation right and will continue to throw Redd and Warrick out there. It has already pointed out that those two are some of the worst in the league.

Now if Gentry can somehow pull his head out of his arse, and play a steady diet of Price and Chilldress, we might be able to pull it out. We'll need defense, and he'll play Redd.

Fire Gentry! If we don't get better on the court we'll be better on draft day. There are only a few teams that just can't win this season.

Gentry is not the Suns problem. A lack of quality young talent frittered away and other bad FO moves is more the problem.

Per a Paul Coro at azcentral dated 3-30-12, Childress looks to see playing time at SF as Brown looks to be the starting SG and Dudley the starting SF. See link below.

Beyond Brown, small forward Josh Childress goes from being the lost Sun to a key to preventing a lost season. Childress, the Suns' fourth-highest-paid player at $6 million this season, is the only other true Suns small forward and stands 6 feet 8. He's similar to Hill with his rangy defense and active rebounding. Childress has made 20 appearances this season, including one lasting seven minutes in the past 20 games.

There are some days when I think Childress could play back-up center better than Lopez. I never know which Lopez is coming off the bench.

If Gentry had gone with a rotation of

Nash, Price
Dudley, Brown
Hill, Childress
Frye, Morris
Gortat, Lopez

for the entire season this year, then I bet we would be likely #6 seed in the West right now easily.
