How many times could you say James Jones got hot from behind the arc? That's laughable. He was a decent help defender...that's about it.

Hill shot 1 three tonight. You'd have a point if you were talking about last night, but we don't have a big enough sample of meaningful games to judge Hill on yet in terms of being a 3 point shooter.

Hill shot what? 17 3's last year.. He already has 15 this year.. And how have any of them worked out so far besides turnovers?

That's because Grant Hill never has been nor will be an outside shooter. Anyone with a brain could've told you that D'Antoni's ploy to make Hill practice three pointers all summer to fit his "system" was going to backfire. Grant Hill prior to this season made only 66 three's at a 24% clip in his ENTIRE CAREER before coming to the Suns.
Couldn't agree more. I have often stated this same opinion during the offseason, and have been blasted for it.

Teams are going to give the Hill the open three all day until he can prove he can make it.

THANK YOU!

man, you know something's right when both me and Gee agree on something. DA will have to adjust his "system" if this ridiculously offensively talented team is ever going to do anything.

and yes, I hope to laugh at this post later in the season.

I think Ive figured out why DA has Hill shooting threes.. DA knew ahead of time Hill couldnt keep up with the fast break and would be the last man down the court.. So he had him practice 3's to set up when we could dish out..

Ya, not working.. The whole offense is in a funk..

I think what the front office had in mind was Hill fitting in a role kind of like what Diaw did in 2005-2006. Good idea on paper, but D'Antoni has never figured out a way for that type of playmaker to co-exist with both Nash and Amare all on the floor. It may be impossible too, those guys have the ball in each of their respective hands for the overwhelming majority of every shot clock.

because he basically has no idea how to run an offense except "Nash, run around, get a three to a wide-open three point shooter or give the ball to Amare on pick and roll?"

nah, this game was not on Hill, you can't just look at what's different and blame the new guy.

However, he has too many lazy passes this year already. And that needs to get corrected.

The D'Antoni's need to stop with horse **** sub pattern...take out amare after 3 mins and put him back in with diaw/barbosa, that's stupid.

Amare needs to stop acting like a 5 year old on adderal on defense, he is a marked man and needs to be under control, not jumping out and hand slapping everyone on the floor.

Bell was cold as hell, he looks horrible.

Nash looks old, real old.

Barbosa looks terrified, not too shocked his best moments were when nothing was on the line.

Diaw played well

Marion played well.

I agree with Gee...Hill is still a good player, but he really doesn't fit the Suns style. It's going to be a whole team adjustment getting him into the "system."

I really don't care about the suns, but I didn't think that Hill was going to be the championship piece, especially since you guys let crazy eyes walk. weird decision. Almost like Jim Buss is running things for you.

Hey, you guys want Jim Buss? I'd trade him for a 2nd rounder.

Hill will look fine when the rest of the team isn't dogging it.

I think he takes them out of their rythm, personally. I think he actually looks fine, himself. But he doesn't look good in the "system."

But, admittedly, I don't watch a lot of Suns ball. Who knows, maybe they'll all adjust quickly.

Nash hasn't looked like Nash though...I've watched both games (first to see Durant) and he just looks...not all there. Weird. His shot is still perfect but he isn't nearly as "active" as he usuallys seems. He always kicks out at the rim, and he was laying it up tonight and I LOVE that. usually when he kicks, it is an open three. I'll take the layups.

Well praise the Lord that Grant Hill is here from Orlando to teach our crappy Suns team how to play!

Where's Hill's temple? Does he serve Jejus juice too?

I thought Skinner in there with Amare at the same time actually hurt the rhythm more.

also, it's kind of silly to pin a total ass whipping on one player, this was a team meltdown, I don't know how anyone could look at it differently. Hill wasn't letting the lakers shot like 60% from the field.

Oh god, yes it did. Skinner is not good. I'd still take him for Cook, straight up. But wow...he plays like his beard looks.

Amen brother!

Gee - Hill is not bad, its just that Coach Jackass can't adjust to take advantage of Hill's strengths. I still hope that Hill is able to learn make the mid-range game a reality for the Suns.

Again - It's not the players. It is the system.

glad you see it too, because most suns fans are falling over themselves about skinner and I don't see it, must be a shallow hal kind of thing.

It's the beard, man. It's the beard.

So really, Cook for Skinner, straight up? I'll toss in Jeannie Buss's Playboy spread.

My focus for this thread was watching tonites and last nites games.. One time is weird.. 2 times is coincidence.. Im hoping the 3rd dont make a trend..

We have started off sluggishish the first two.. And watching it, I see everyone trying their damnest to get Hill involved and he's just not cutting it.. Offense is struggling..

Exactly.. Thats what I said.. And its also why I said Hill was a bad signing.. He doesnt fit our system..
