Simmons disagreed with Barnwell's take on the Cards during his podcast. He also thinks the NFC West along with the NFC North are the class of the league. (As of today, anyway). I like reading Barnwell generally, though.

We have a 7 game stretch starting in Week 7 that will most likely define this season. Of course, anything can happen over the next 3 games too I guess, but, starting in week 7 we go:

Week 7 @ Vikings: Will be a very tough game.
Week 8 Home vs 9ers on Monday Night! Shaping up to be yet another HUGE game against our bitter rivals!!
Week 9 @ Packers: Another very tough game.
Week 10 is our Bye... we'll need it!
Week 11 @ Atlanta: Yet another very tough road game!
Week 12 Home vs the Rams: Should be a chance to chalk up a W.
Week 13 @ The Jets...East Coast road game on December 2nd. It will be freezing and we just have never played well in that scenario.
Week 14 @ Seattle, always a very tough road W to grind out...

If we can go into Week 7 at 5 & 1 or 4 & 2 at the worst (which would mean we would have to lose 2 of the bext 3 to either the Dolphins, Rams and/or Bills), we could come out of Week 14 with a decent season still in play.
9 wins should get us into the post season... and 10 W's would be a lock. We'll see... one game at a time!! ;)

As a fan. I agree completely.

Week 8 against the Niners, and Week 14 @ Seattle, are going to be huge for our team. If they are in it at that point, those games will determine how good this team is.

Right now. This has to take it one game at a time. The schedule they have in front of them is brutal.

Miami is a test of the team, IMO. The Cardinals of the past would fall into this trap game hook, line and sinker. The ghost of the Same ol' Cardinals that arose with the coming of Derek Anderson would lose this game, and fold completely.

What should happen is our defense shuts the Dolphins down, and force their rookie QB to make mistakes.

3-0 with teams like Green Bay, Atlanta, San Fransisco in front of them it might be easy to overlook Miami, Buffalo, St. Louis, and Minnesota.

A team that is going to the playoffs, and means to do some business in the playoffs comes out of this 7-0.

Our defense is shutting team completely down right now. Whether Wilson, or Dockett hurt......doesn't matter. The team has depth, the team believes in their defense, and buying into the system the defense is being made from.

They play like they have been the last three games, and those four team should not have a chance. We will see. My guess was this was a 8-8 team.

Like it or not he was correct. A lot of those games during the hot streak were either by mistakes by the other team or great individual efforts on the Cardinals. Blocked kicks, missed FGs and punt returns for TDs cannot be your standard bearer week in and week out.
